If I ever find out who decided to cut the last week out of my semester I'll kill 'em. Instead of two weeks of for the lasts evaluations we had planned now its only one week, there are classes I have to take two tests In 2 friggin hours!

And who the heck jumps from teaching about arrays in C to have us write programs with double linked lists!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!

Gracious -- do they assume as prerequistite to the course, that you are already familiar with all sorts of programming constructs? (like linked lists, etc) And that you only need to learn the triviality of how to do an array in C to be able to extrapolate to fancier things like linked lists?

This may not seem important in the scheme of things but I am furious nevertheless.

30 years loyal service at a company and what does my husband get?

Nothing. Nada. Zip!!!

I was incensed when he came home and told me that it had just slipped by unnoticed. You'd think you'd get some form of recognition, even a letter or a card.

I was so steamed up last night thinking about it and all the extra hours he puts in that I went online, found the directors name and contact details and wrote them a bit of an irate letter.

So I'm still fuming this morning.

Upset me and it isn't a big issue but upset my immediate family and that's it - I turn from a sweet-natured little thing into a tiger!

That sucks big time. You would think they have some sort of system in place to allert them. Makes you wonder (you hubby that is) what he did there all the years. Hope you get the chance one day to casually drop the into the conversation.

Truly most companies don't care anymore about employees or customers they all worship the ROI and bottom line.

Sadly typical these days.

Our board received many complaints about the same issue, and they sent a letter to all our managers reminding them to treat staff who are leaving with proper respect.

When a company becomes a certain size, production is cut out from office so much that they become two different worlds.
Where I was, office population was greater than shop population. When the company decided that employees became an expense, they laid off half the shop workers. Nothing in their minds set off an alarm that they were a manufacturing entity with no other revenue than what was fabricated in the shop.
How stupid can that be?
Unless... they planned to sabotage the company and spread the last value between the office workers.
