There was such a fuss about it in the 1980s, mostly made by fundamentalists.
The logo started when someone began marking all shipping arrivals from P&G with a hand-drawn crescent moon for easy identification. People came to associate P&G with a crescent moon, so the company adopted a stylized crescent moon as their logo. Then in the latter half of the 20th century fundamentalists began spreading the rumor that it was a satanic symbol and that P&G was run by Satan worshipers.

They now have a lame new logo that is so bland no one could possibly misinterpret it. What a pity; as the old logo was one of the most attractive and artistic in the corporate world.

Fundamentalists! Why are they called that? They're no FUN, and they certainly don't display a great deal of MENTAL ability. They ruin everything they touch. They're like Bizarro World versions of King Midas.

I think it's because they speak out of their fundament
(at least according to one of the definitions of that word).

That level of control over oneself is a hard thing to master you should know...

It takes 5 years of expensive studies for lawyers to learn that...

On languages, one of the reasons the English language is so weird in terms of spelling vs pronunciation is, apparently, due to The Great Vowel Shift: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A980624 and the wikipedia version: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Vowel_Shift

To say nothing of the fact that at various times they have been overrun by Vikings, Danes, Normans, and Germans. And that was after the Romans, Angles and Saxons had their way with the original indigents - whose name is lost to my memory... Celts, maybe? That island has been sorely abused.

Those of you who read Dan Brown will also, no doubt, recall that the Merovingians were also part of the Frankish clan and that it was these who Dan Brown 'proved' were the continuation of Jesus' bloodline.

So, pshrynk, you keep P&G, I'm related to the son of God
Oh, I'm not claiming relationship with them. I know how to spell. Can't type worth a damn, but I can spell. My branch of the family fell off the boat in the late 1800's and are all settled in Iowa (mostly).

thanks for those links am, that was really interesting. i'd never heard of that phenomenon before. just think, a few hundred years ago, ALL english speakers sounded like the scots ! must have been glorious.
