OK so far. I can't access my e-mails, but MR is not on the black list yet. The people are very friendly and the canteen is good

sounds almost perfect (except for the emails.) ! those are the only important criteria anyway, right ?

right now playing "fetch" with Strider (you know, big kittie?). I knew this could be a game he might like, but he is quite serious about it. you know how some dogs are single focused; "throw the ball, throw the ball...!"? he kind of is that way as well. when I throw the toy he lets off a little "mrrrRRRpp" and then runs after it. he brings it back usually to my lap, sometimes my feet and purrs until I throw again. if for some reason I don't respond right away I get "MRAOW" which I do believe means "NOW DAMNIT!". this activity normally goes on for about a half hour ending with him panting but carefully guarding his toy so he knows I know he didn't abandon it!

Pretty much, yes. There's also the location, and I'm still reserving my judgment on that but it should be OK once I manage to figure out how to get there from the train station. I got lost this morning of course, but I'll try to get one of the strapping young men here to show me the way back

I'm skipping over several days of posts and feeling kind of guilty about it!

Right now I'm celebrating Shannon's victory over the housing market.

It's been a struggle, but we (well, Shannon) finally put a bid on a townhouse where she wasn't kicked out by an investor and was accepted by the seller. Now it goes to the bank for their approval because it's a short sale. This particular house has already gone through the bank process once but the original buyers backed out after it took them 9 months to come to a decision. Hopefully, things should go much more quickly for Shannon. The crumby part of the whole process was investors coming in and out bidding new home buyers. I feel bad for young people who want to buy a house but can't because the investors are buying up the inventory in the lower price ranges.

I also just put down a deposit on a Pomeranian puppy for Shannon's 23rd birthday in two weeks. She was really thinking about getting a BIG dog (her first choice was a Newfie, KK) but since her new house is a townhouse with no real yard, she decided on getting a lap dog now and getting a bigger dog with her next house. She chose the breed but she doesn't know that I found a black Pomeranian puppy which she could pretend was a REALLY tiny newfie!

The nice thing is, I'll be able to housetrain the puppy for her before she moves into her new place. More work for me, but a great gift for her. Hey! That's what mom's are for!

Watching the daughter-thing cut up paper on the floor of my office (school closed for slush, so I get kid-time) ... and watching the spinny thing on the screen as I try for the THIRD TIME TODAY to get one of my novels formatted properly on SMASHWORDS...grrr (lol).
