I was reading a Ziff-Davis article about e-textbooks (http://education.zdnet.com/?p=3657&tag=nl.e539) and near the end is a comment "Even Calibre can’t handle VitalSource books."

This comment obviously implies that Calibre is the "go-to" app for file type handling and conversion. (at least by this author).

It's also a challenge...
