Euro prices for this type of stuff are almost always higher. Somebody else broke down the extra costs (VAT, etc) in another thread and it works out pretty close.

even so that would value the 3G component at approximatey zero, given products like the Plastic Logic QUE and Apple iPad adding 3G would seem to be add about $100-$130 to the price.

In the product description it says that it supports epub PDF, PDB, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP and TIFF but implies there is more formats. Most of what I have is HTML. I'd also like to put personal documents on it.

Those are all I've seen so far. But with epub it supports both adobe drm as well as B&N drm so that is essentially two formats. Mine should get here tomorrow and I'll check on html.

Thank you, I'm in Canada, so I would be shopping from Kobo, which says their books cane be uploaded to the Nook, so I assume it would work too.
But I was thinking more along the lines of books I already have. I'd say of the 100 or so books I have about 60 of them are HTML and there's no way I'm going to buy them again. I was going to buy the Onyx Boox, but since the release day was pushed back from may to.... whenever I just might get this one.

If it does support HTML I'll order one, have it shipped to my aunt and have her ship it to me.

I'm guessing since the books are html you could convert them via calibre to whatever format you want. That might be an alternative, but I'll still check out html compatibility.

I did spring for expedited shipping. UPS tracking shows it as being in Atlanta and I was hoping for morning delivery, but I think it will be afternoon delivery since it's not yet showing on the truck. If something happens and it doesn't make it today I'm going to be seriously bummed.

I'm really looking for easy, unless I can convert them all at once rather than do 60+ books one at a time it a bit of a hassle. Plus, isn't there a legal aspect. I'm not sure I can convert them legally.

If you are in the US, format shifting is legal. Removing DRM so that you *can* format shift may or may not be - the DMCA is unclear and no court has ruled on it.

You can do batch conversions with Calibre very easily.

In Canada, there is no law against stripping DRM (encryption) and most likely format shifting of ebooks you paid for is legal too. See Blame Canada!

To be honest I've only ever done a text to HTML. And I wouldn't have any idea how to strip a DRM.

I doubt your HTML files have DRM. Can you open them in your browser with File -> Open? If so, no DRM.

As someone said, converting Html to ePub in Calibre is trival. You can write a very simple batch file which will do them all with one command.

Does anyone know if the iRex 800 supports file organization with custom tags/categories for books? It drives me nuts that I cannot organize my books on board a Kindle or Nook.

It allows folders if you apply a minor tweak, see Unboxing iRex 800 and first impressions. Make sure you use a Linux compatible editor to update dr.ini.
