Just started 5th Horseman by James Patterson. I've been jumping back and for in the Woman's Murder Club series depending on what the library has available. Kinda fun, since those killed later are still alive, but now you discover how they died...

As for Star trek, I am currently reading Star trek: Terok Nor: Day of the Vipers. It's the first in a set of three about the Cardassion occupation of the Bajor and how it all began.

The last book of Patterson's I read was Sail and I was able to breeze through that one. It was kind of a predictable but still good.

In one of them, it was about Q. Riker was on the other ship he got promoted to, Data was mourned and gone, the new ship's counsellor was a Vulcan and there was some sort of portal in time/space that was going to destroy the galaxy. In the other one, it was about Data and Worf was away on DS9 so there was a new security chief. Data's mother dies and he explores his 'humanity' while investigating an accident involving androids.

I can tell you the Outlander series is fantastic! Do find her others and try to read them in order. I agree they should be listed under historical fantasy.

I did read Outlander on a GF's recommendation. I plodded through the entire book. It was awful. And the plot device to get her back in time was dreadful. As was the romance when she was back in time. It was just too unoriginal and predictable. Not nice overall. The surprising bit is that she's gotten away with writing more of them.

Finally starting something new after re-reading the 9 books of the Farseer/Liveship Traders/Tawny Man trilogies. Now reading The King of Elfland's Daughter, and starting to enjoy it after a difficult beginning.

All the SCE/CoE books are worth reading.

Has anyone read _And Another Thing_ by Colfer? Is it any good? How does it compare to the rest of the HHG stuff?

I have it, but I've yet to read it.

I thought it was good bit of a fun and an entertaining romance-action-adventure, a bit tongue-in-cheek even, with the romance. I had no problems with suspending disbelief. After book 3/4 they've been in a steady decline though.

That one would be Q&A I rather enjoyed that one. Sorry you did not.

The problem with books carrying the James Patterson byline is that they're an unknown quantity. You can't rely on the author name because a title might have been conveyor-belt produced by any one of the several ghosts in the Patterson factory. Neil
