I, personally, would never consider the Entourage Edge because it is too big and heavy, but it may work for some.

That's my main gripe with the EDge too. I actually would like to have one and try it to see if the weight is really an issue for me, but I don't want to spend $500 to find that out and send it back. If it shows up in stores it would have a much better shot at getting purchased by me.

That one factor will completely kill the DR800SG in the U.S. At first, when Best Buy was going to have it on sale physically in the stores, that was one thing. But now that BB shows it on sale "online only", I just can't believe either BB or iRex is even bothering. No one is going to shell out that kind of cash in this kind of economy for an overpriced, software-crippled reader that they can't even see in the store first. If BB sells 1,000 units of this thing within 6 months of it going live (assuming that even happens), I'll be shocked.

If they ever manage to actually get it in the Best Buy pipeline I expect it will end up in stores as well. At least that is what Best Buy indicated to me. Initially release online and then moving to the stores as supply builds. Very similar to what Sony had with the 900.
