I was originally looking for a series area akin to the genre area, but I like the way you implemented this in the titles. It makes it nice and clean and grouped well.

I am for having any area where the series are located in order. If you move away from this setting please ensure there is an area listing series/books.

0.6.41 should satisfy multiple preferences.

Author and Genre Sections will group & sort an author's books by non-series, then series.

The Title Section will sort an author's books by title only, with series appended in parentheses.

The Recently Added Section will have a 'Last 30 days' group sorted in reverse chronological order displaying title, series appended in parentheses, followed by books added by month, grouped and sorted like the Author and Genre Sections.

Something for everyone.

Please create a feature enhancement request with specific details describing the layout of such a section. Include what you mean by 'Series, sorted alphabetically' with examples.

If this new section is added please could it be one which has the option to include/exclude, like Titles and Recently_Added.

People with a large library probably already need to split the Catalog into portions for it to be manageable on the e-reader.

In case it's helpful to anyone else, I found it on my Windows XP machine in
C:\Program Files\Calibre\resources\catalog\stylesheet.css

... I guess it's possible that a future release of Calibre would overwrite your personalised CSS file so you would need to take steps to remember what you changed.

Help using catalog commandline, please
I'm a commandline dummy. Please can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I'm trying to create an EPUB catalog of my historical novels - excluding the Titles section.
The History EPUB is created OK but the Titles section is not excluded.

This is the commandline code I used (Windows XP SP3)

calibredb catalog "c:\calibre\My History.epub" --search="tag:historical" --catalog-title="My History" --generate-titles="false" --output-profile=sony -v
If I use the GUI everything works fine.

Sorry if it has already been discussed elsewhere, couldnt find it...

Though I LOVE the catalog feature, my first try didnt give me too much satisfaction: having almost 1000 ebooks in my library, what I produced was a huge document, not so fun to read ... much better to browse the wonderful Calibre interface instead.

Instead, what would be great would be to create a catalogue of just the ebooks on my device, where calibre does not run, and where - with an average of 50 books on it anytime - I dont know exactly what to read next.

Give me your thoughts about it...
