Yeah, a great price. I was a little wary because apocalyptic sci-fi isn't what I read usually but I wanted to support a fellow indie author, and I'm glad I did.

Well, I love those post-apocalyptic stories. So thanks for the head's up. I downloaded the sample, sounds interesting so went to and found it at Smashwords and downloaded it.

So,

I'm giving up on Metagame. Just doesn't seem to be for me.

So, now I have nothing left to read on my Kindle. What should I read next folks. Here's some purchases I was considering making:

First To Die by James Patterson
The Stand by Steven King
Out of the Deep I Cry by Julia Spencer-Flemming
The Well Of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson
Grand Designs: SCE Omnibus (37-42)

Thoughts?

Has anyone read _And Another Thing_ by Colfer? Is it any good? How does it compare to the rest of the HHG stuff?

Congrats on fininshing off your TBR list!

Sanderson wrote Mistborn, didn't he? And we loved that. Maybe give it a try.

The Stand is arguable Steven King's greatest book, although you could make a good case for It. Anyway, I would definitely recommend The Stand

Yeah, that's gotta be a different book. I still can't believe everyone survived in that expedition.

OK, this is somewhat off-topic here, but bear with me.

I just watched the movie version of The Time-Traveler’s Wife.

The book by Audrey Niffenegger had a much more satisfying ending.

I’d be willing to bet good money that an e-book version wouldn’t have changed that ending!

I read "The Stand" years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. The details are a bit vague now, but I know I'll glady re-read it.

More recently I started out with James Patterson's books that are available at my local library. I haven't read "First to Die", but I did finish "2nd Chance", "4th of July" and "6th Target". They were all quite enjoyable and make for fast reads.

One of my FAVORITE writers. I have this in hardcover First Edition, in F/F.

Cheever is a wonderfully nuanced writer.

"Goodbye, My Brother," and "The Enormous Radio" are classics of American Fiction, in my opinion.

There are two versions of The Stand BOb. Both good. The first -- though still hefty -- was heavily edited down. Later, when King became so big that he could call the shots, he published his unabridged version. Darned good read.
