Seriously though! as soon as I start to nod off I put it on the bedside cabinet. The floor is tiled so if I kicked it off in the night it would surely break.
I have dropped all of my readers onto the tile floor multiple times without a scratch. My only problem ever was the lighted cover for the Sony Touch Edition -- sometimes the battery case would open and the cover would be 5 feet away from the reader. The battery never fell out.

I don't recommend dropping your readers onto the tile floor just for fun, but I've found that in practice they are quite hardy. Mine are dropped at least 2-3x/week when I fall asleep.

I have to admit i've been afraid to think of bringing the Jetbook into the bath.
I suspect that your right, a quart sized ziplock bag should waterproof it nicely.

And if it will do it for that, hmmm perhaps it would keep the river mud and water off it too. Which would mean I could read while I am waiting for the fish to bite.

Ok, off to look at ziplock bag sizes.

I read in bed, no problems there. Either I put the book on my nightstand or underneath my pillow. Or anywhere between.

I don't. Protect it, that is. I just take it with me into the tub. Just a matter of drying my hands before handling it and not dropping it into the water.

Indeed. Mine is on its third accu by now and still going strong. I frequently do use it to read in bed (or/and listen to music), especially when reading on the Hanlin V3 (or a p-book) would annoy my wife because of the needed additional light.

I use it in bed all the time. The only thing I do is to put a pillow on the floor, besides me. I have fallen asleep couple times and it never fell on the floor.

I mainly read in bed. 99% of my Kindle's usage is reading in bed before sleeping, as that's the only time I do leisure reading really.

That said, "before" is the key word there. I've never fallen asleep while reading. If I'm getting that tired I'm going to put the Kindle or paper book down, turn off the lamp and go to sleep.

The quart size ziplock is just perfect! I keep my JBL in that almost all the time as it also protects the screen when I tuck it into a bag with other stuff (keys and so on) and keeps off the dust, saliva and dog hairs... not to mention very inexpensive to replace.

I read in bed all the time. I find it helps me relax and helps me get sleepy. I try to make sure I am reading toward the center of the bed when I use my pda or eReader so the device won't fall on the floor if I doze off, but the paper book can fall where ever it lands.
