I checked with mine over the weekend and they didn't have any knowledge, but hopefully he is correct. That would give me a new toy for the weekend!

I just spoke with Best Buy online and they show a February 4th date in the system. The rep wasn't sure if that would be the date they have them in the stores or just online, but she offered to call me back on the 4th with the details. It sounds like we're just a few days away from launch in the U.S.

I just looked at http://www.irexreader.com/ and noticed that they don't have the Best Buy logo on their anymore. Not sure if it means anything now that Best Buy is showing it on it's website. No if we can actually purchase on February 4th like the rumors have it.

Maybe that means there will be other vendors now as well. When I spoke with the online rep this morning she spent quite a bit of time digging through the system and then gave me the date of the 4th so it certainly seems like that date is valid. I guess we'll know in a few days.

I assume what this means is that you can start placing orders on the 4th. Somebody else over on the iRex forum said that they talked to their local BestBuy who said that it wouldn't start shipping until the 15th. Not sure if they're talking about two different dates (pre-order vs shipping) or if we're getting inconsistent answers from different store locations.

The girl I spoke with said the system just showed February 4th availability, but she couldn't determine whether that was available online, in the stores, both or just available for ordering. I don't think we're getting different dates, just not clarity on what the date actually means.

Just checked the status on the Best Buy website and it is now listed as coming soon. Seems like an upgrade in status since before it was just listed as out of stock. It would be great if it hits the stores tomorrow or at least becomes orderable tomorrow.

There's nothing "wrong" with my iLiad, but I really want a DR800. How to justify it without feeling guilty.

You need to buy it so that you can give me a full review so that I can decide if I want to buy it. You'd be performing a great public service.

What would you guys recommend when I'd like to buy on of this devices from the US and ship it over to germany?
I don't have any contacts in the states to buy a device and ship it over to germany.

If you've some solutions that would be great :-)

Given my (deserved or not) reputation, I doubt many people would be interested in my review. If I was positive, they would just start claiming (again) and I'm some kind of iRex shill. If I was negative, they'd ignore it (like they do all my other negative posts) and claim I'm a shill anyway.
