hm, haven't seen ashes to ashes. but i got really attached to the characters in LoM and i wasn't sure i would like the same premise with different everything else... i'll give it a try though !

I felt the same before watching AtA. Most the actors and characters are the same; Gene Hunt is still in it. Sam Tyler isn't or Annie. The first show seemed a little different but then after that I really liked it as much as LoM. In AtA the main character Alex travels back to the 80's instead of the 70's. She talks about Sam to Gene occasionally and knows he went back in time as she does. The very last show of LoM was amazing. I should rewatch the series again.

Life on Mars here in the States really sucked. I think they took all the really bad bits from the BBC series and added some really stupid ideas and then sat around wondering why no one loved it.

Pshrynk, I've never seen the U.S. version. The UK version is wonderful though; recommend it!
