Yes, with the cover it does. Of course without it, it does as well. The pictures show the two bags I use on a regular basis. One is the "take it all with you" bag and the other is "you don't really need all that" bag. There's plenty of room to spare with the hard case in them.

Thanks SCION. That was one of my main concerns!

I know what you mean. I guess some women have an advantage with their everyday bag being able to accommodate the hard case. I did order a small netbook sleeve (prior to receiving the 900) for the reason you mentioned. Plan to use that on days when I don't want to lug a bag around or I'm just going comfy casual for the day.

My goodness. And you still have room for a laptop in there. Or a couple of sandwiches. Wimmins and their purses. Mrs olguy has about 50 in her closet but none that are that big. I need to get her one so she can tote my stuff, huh?

Funny you mention this. My husband is known for asking me to put his stuff (thick wallet, cell phone, keys) in my bag when we're out.

Why do you figure they say to take the soft cover off when using the hard case?

Regardless, that does make me happy! The 900's soft cover doesn't feel quite as protective as my stock 505's cover was, partly because it doesn't actually cover the back and partly the edges of the 900 seem more exposed in the soft cover.

They probably want you to take the soft cover off so you can use the device in the hard case. I agree the edges of the 900 are exposed too much with the soft cover alone. Would hate to mess up that beautiful finish around the edges.

Reading in Hard Cover requires removal of soft cover

The best way to use the Hard Cover is to leave the soft cover off. Then, turn on the PRS 900 at home and you can read it directly in the Hard Cover at any time by just unzipping the flap and maintian protection while reading.

It hardly uses any power unless page turning.

We got you, sirmaru. I don't like reading with the hard case. I prefer to keep the soft cover on and place it in the hard case when I'm out and about. If I'm sitting down somewhere I'm not too worried about dropping it; I just remove it from the hard case and it's still in the soft cover for enjoyment. This also gives me the convenience of attaching a reading light to the soft cover at any time. When I'm done reading I just close the soft cover and back in the protective hard case it goes. It pleases me that you enjoy utilizing the hard case the way it was meant. There's no wrong way.

My complaint about using the hard cover that way is the top flap does not fold completely under the bottom, as the soft cover does (and my 505 M-Edge cover does). Seems awkward, holding with flap to the side and takes up too much room on a table.

The hard case could easily be redesigned to fold the top flap nicely.

If you read in Landscape Mode, the TOP flap is perfectly maneuravable. It doesn't get in the way at all.

I emailed m-edge about covers and received the same response as olguy above.

Sadly, it appears that one of my favorite ebook cover makers, Oberon Designs, are not planning on making a cover for the PRS-900, based on the email which I just received from them:
Quote:
Dear Jissa, we were hoping that the 900 would fit in our K2 cover but unfortunately it’s a bit loose in the corner strap style. We have a customer who wants to try using our Velcro style cover who thinks it will work but, as yet, that’s an unknown. I’m afraid, due to lower demand of our Sony Reader covers, we don’t have plans to offer more covers for newer models. Thanks for contacting us though. Kind regards, Becca
Anyone else look for other covers (and/or want to send Oberon emails? Possibly if they got enough they might make a cover for us!).

M-edge covers for the 900 are finally available for preview on their website.
