I installed a tru vue screen protector anti glare shield on my prs-600 and shortly there after I was unable to use the touch screen for any type of input.

Miffy, I'm in Canada, too. How long did it take to get your samples?

Thanks for sharing, folks!

Thanks for all these experiments
yeah it's effective. see my other recent posts for the details. the that did NOT work ended up being the light control film.

all i know is i had a LOT of trouble reading my prs600 indoors, until i put the 3m film on. it's not a strain on my eyes to read anymore.

Ok i should clarify something though: the contrast on the screen is still unchanged. the contrast of the sony touch screen readers are still not as good as other readers. for example, i bought the alurtek reader at costco and tried it out before i bought the sony touch reader. although the alurtek contrast was MUCH better, it was so SLOW with pdfs and file transfers were ridiculous so i returned it after i bought the sony reader. the sony reader is fast, easy to use, and the battery life is long. but again, contrast (even WITH the 3m film) on the sony touch reader is not as good as the other reader i tried (by alurtek).

I made a request for a sample for a legitimate project at work (not a small company, either) and got the same email! I don't even have a 600. I gave my work address and email. Guess the "samples" are exclusive.

What we need in comparison photos is a full page of text with the screen only half-protected. I realize few of us would be willing to possibly sacrifice a screen protector (if not repositionable). But you'd think sellers would post such an image, if it worked.

Some how I think we need to take a systematic approach here. Several users have tested several different brands and just googling, I can see a few more out there not yet tested. Can we somehow orangize this data? Maybe recruit some of us to try other product out there and report back in a detailed review with pics? Any ayes out there?

So from what I can gather we have the following (and please forgive me if I spell screen names wrong):

Tru View - kc5cychris' review says doesn't really work, interferred with touch screen
3m Vikuiti ARM200 - MiffyMiffster says works well for her; not so well for others
Lexard - Bitgod says no visible improvement; mbelec said made harder to read
Cleartouch - edu500ac says works well
Screen Patronus - Donald1 says increases the glare
Green Onion - afsamdeigo - does nothing for the glare

Can we get any pictures of the reviews we have so far? Can we build on what we have so far?

I've also found some other products, Kai and Nushield. Not sure yet where to purchase them....

Good job Trout. I'm still waiting on mine coming but I'm hopeful now that you've noticed a difference.

I was going passed Waterstones today, so I popped in and bought one to try out for £9.99. Attached are two photos of the same text. As you should be able to see, I placed the screen diagonally across the text so that clear text and text under the screen can be compared. Trying to get a photo of reflected light is proving to be difficult!
I can say, though, subjectively, the glare does seem to be reduced a little and there is only a very, very slight 'insertion loss'.

I have just fitted the ARM 200, purchased via Amazon and am reasonably impressed. Subjectively it reduces the glare and I only notice the slight loss of clarity when reading in dim light, such as on the train this morning.

However what I have noticed is that it shows finger marks where I turn the pages much more than on the Sony screen.

I have not had to clean the Sony screen, apart from when applying the ARM film, but I will definitely have to do so if I continue to use the film.
