One could argue that they really wouldn't observe- it would only be preserved on a harddrive to be watched if you have comitted a crime. Surely nothing wrong with that? Obviously one could argue one way or the other- I just hope that the all permeating surveillance will be stopped soon or we will buy more safety at the cost of personal freedom...

Well, I suppose anyone could provide a workable alternate solution to the crime, death, injustice, terrorism and pain caused by a press of 7 billion people on a planet that is rapidly melting down from the pressure.
