One of the things I love about Kindle is that there is no need for external software. I LOVE having it just show up as an external drive. No 'syncing' for me, please.

I have to say, I'm not so big on the games, unless it's Wii Fit. Hey, can we get Wii Fit for Kindle?!

One word: FOLDERS! With over 600 books on my Kindle (I delete once finished) scrolling through 61 pages is a pain. Thankfully I have learned the trick of saying go to titles starting with S for example and it throws me to my S titled books. This saves time, but to be able to organize, even rudamentary organization would be better than the options we have now, which are Most Recent, Title and Author.

Folders or tags or both. Pretty please.

It would be kind of cool if it could have PDA functions--calendar, contacts, to-do list, etc, but really, what it really *really* needs is folders or tags or both, that you can manage on the Kindle itself, without having to hook it up to a computer.

At the end of last year Amazon announced that in the first half of this year they would provide some means of managing our books. However, they didn't really give any specifics. Personally, I'd like the ability to manage my books with Folders, Tags, and a Readlist (like a music Playlist). So, I'm hoping that this SDK is robust enough that we can implement whatever Amazon doesn't.

Well, I would like something like that - it is nobody's business but mine what I read. I would also like a legal way to get library books on my kindle, but I doubt they will do that. Folders would be nice, but since I now depend on Calibre, whatever they come up with to organize books should dovetail with Calibre.

-epub reader application
-screensaver application. i don't like current screen savers
-text formatting on the fly as you read to change margins and spacing
-a system for figuring out what page you are on in the hardcover edition...or a simulated page location system
-folder/tag system for better organization
-better organization of highlights and typed notes across books
-application that aggregates words or phrases that you highlight for later review, perhaps in creating new word lists. might want to highlight words you are not familiar with and review later
-book rating system

The ability to create any number of levels of folders and sub-folders, even if I have to do it with the device connected to the PC via USB. User selectable fonts might be nioce but the problem I see with that is the amount of space they would use up if pre-installed that could be better utilized for storing books.

Page numbers.

If it can tell me I'm on 257-265 of 19132, there surely is a way to tell me I'm on page 33 of 358. I want to see current page, total pages in the book and chapter page numbers in the contents or pages remaining in the chapter. All adjusted on the fly when you change text size.

My number one request, like many others, is tags/folders (preferably both). I would also like enhanced searching that allowed me to restrict my search based on tags and/or folders or down to an individual document.

Other features I would like (many already mentioned):

ePub, which I doubt will happen any time soon.
The ability to flag errors and have it automatically sent to Amazon and on to the publisher.
More dictionaries, rather than just searching one at a time.
Additional fonts, though I like the current fonts quite well.
The ability to highlight a word or phrase in a document and do a web or Wikipedia search on it.

Given that Mobipocket has had page number's never working right, the only way to get properly working page numbers is to have a different format supported that would work with page numbers.

This already exists on K2 (don't know about DX), but it's pretty well hidden. You can highlight the word/phrase you'd like to search, then press the space bar. This will copy your highlighted text to the search box. You can then use the 5-way to move the cursor to the right, past the "find" button, and you'll see all the buttons (my items, store, google, wiki, dictionary, note)

It obviously doesn't work on K1, but, sadly, I doubt the SDK will work on K1s, either, navigation is just so different on the two models.

Darn it! Now you're making me want to upgrade. I will try to resist. I'm trying to hold out at least for one more generation of hardware.
