In love with my new prs 600

Hello all,

I've been reading for while and have joined now that I've received my new Sony E reader.

Having read many people's pros and cons over the last few months, I find the model better than I had hoped for. In particular, the reading of text pdf files far surpasses my expectations.

There is, of course, a glare issue in certain lights, but it really doesn't bother me one bit. As someone who spends a lot of time traveling and living in non-English speaking countries, this might be my best ever purchase.

Highly recommended.

Thanks to all who post info on their devices and helped me make my choice. Oh, and Calibre is possibly the best thing since...well, you know...

Hi & welcome to MR - lots of info, tips & tricks, plenty of people willing to help with any problems you may have (and yes, it seems not only related to eBooks & readers ), free books and fun.

And yes, I am also in love with my 600.

Wecome, welcome. I just love my 600 as well. I consider it my single best purchase of last year. With it reading is actually fun again because I now can have many choices of books when I am traveling around as well.

I'll join in with the gushing. It is far better than I even dared hope. It's perfect. I'm very happy I waited with buying a reader. If I'd bought the 505 last year I know I'd be too cheap to fork out for a new one this year.

Me too I just got mine a week ago and I'm hooked! The glare is not much of an issue for me either.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I've so many books to read, I've no idea where to start. So i've started Das Kapital, long high up on my 'to read' list.

I will send one negative message to Sony, though. Great product, but could we have some instructions in the future? It took me 3 days to realize I wasn't switching it off properly!

Just want to say it's fine to turn it "off" but really no need to. Just do the on/off slide and put it in "sleep" mode and that's really all you need to do. The battery life is so insane there is no real advantage to turning it off. You can turn it off every week or two to give it a clean "re-boot" but other than that, might as well do it the easy way.... enjoy!
