I've only finished the first, and although I liked it, I didn't see the hype. I got the second at the library and I haven't cracked it open yet. I'll go for it this weekend.

I can get that the hype is not there yet =)
But get back to me in book 4... Say page 92-100?
If I remeber correctly *lol*
No, joking aside, the books a well written and fun.
But then I just discovered this entire new world of books.
Just by going over the read in english instead of swedsih got me a lot of new sci-fi and all these new cool genres I had no idea was out there!

That's how I felt after the first book as well, but I found the series got better as it went along. I wouldn't call it spectacular or anything like that but the books were fun reads that I really enjoyed, and I plan to keep on reading the novels as they are published.

Okay, now I am on, I think it is book 6? The one after the one about the vampire summit? Anyway, I am not liking it as much as the last one. Too much politics it's like the West Wing but with supernatural beings. Boring! Right now, some of the books seem to be good and some only so-so. It varies with each book.

Some of the books are definitely stronger than others (like pretty much any series).

Her other series'--Aurora Teagarden, Lily Bard, Harper Connelly--aren't to bad either.

Try The Hollows by Kim Harrison. The first book is Dead Witch Walking. It is a fun read.

I will 2nd Kim Harrison. I also like Kat Richardson's books, starting with Greywalker. Maria V. Snyder has an interesting trio, a bit YA, but still good: Poison Study is her first one. And I just finished and LOVED Ilona Andrew's series starting with Magic Bites.

I'll put in a Seconded vote for the original author's "Harper Connelly" series. They have a little more supernatural in them. Totally different from the Southern Vampire series, but good also!

I enjoyed them all except the last novel. It really needed better editing. I still think the first is the best though - and the series has its ups and downs after that.

For those of you looking for something to read while you wait for the next Southern Vampire book (a series I adore btw), try the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It starts with Fantasy Lover. It's a sexy, paranormal series mixed with Greek mythology. Hot alpha males and fantastic heroines. I'm a great fan and have them all in print versions, was reading and collecting the series long before I started reading ebooks. The series does need to be read in order though.

I've read them all and enjoyed each one!
I tend to read more than one book at a time (it works for me)
Thus, if I get bogged down in one I just switch books
Usually I can then go back the first book with a fresh outlook

I agree. I read the first 2, then 2 or 3 more, etc. I have now finished all of them, and some I liked, some I didn't. The last one really goes astray. But for the very first time, I can say I liked the movie/TV show better than the book. That has NEVER happened before. Sometimes I am actually angry watching the movie after I have read the book (A Beautiful Mind).
