Well, opus already does that. Adding an option in the menu so the gen3 can do that without the accelerometer shoudn't be too hard.

So why have they never done it? seems so simple. I have it on my 505 and read some of my novels/books in landscape mode. Plus it would make the Gen3 more ergonomic as when I read pdfs on it......

I was surprised to to see this on 2.0 acctualy.
Maybe it's harder that I though, or they didn't though about it. Who knows.

Have you requested it from Bookeen? Perhaps they aren't aware that people want it.

Then they could have saved money and not put it in the Opus. So I do not see how they could not be aware of it being a good idea.

True. Plus, the peaple at bookeen are usualy good at figuring out these kind of things.
That lead to mumbeling from me, when I realised I had to activate the acelerometer just to switch to landscape.

Maybe they add too more feature than expected, and forget about this one? I don't know. If the opus is capable, I don't see why the Gen3 wont..

Perhaps: on their blog they mention....Rotation for the 2.0 update and that was not under PDFs.....SO....I thought that meant they finally were going to have landscape mode for mob or epub in the next firmware update.

I find the landscape mode for PDFs.... much more ergonomic than the portrait mode. Unfortunately, I'd rather read in epub than pdf..... thus I tend to mix betwixt the two ....

you can still lookup only on dictionaries that are the same language of the book you're reading, differently from what happens on mobipocket reader on a pc.
They did not fix this bug.

I'm not sure that is a bug.

If you're reading an English book, and you have, say, a German dictionary, then you wouldn't want to try to look up an English word in that dictionary, would you? But if you were reading a German book, you would want to use your German dictionary. Isn't that the whole purpose of the "language coding" of books?

Yes, I would like to look up all German words used in the text. And when I read Dorothy Sayers in English I need to look up all French words that are used without an explanation.

I was reading War and Peace in Italian then, and there's a lot of French and German, and I couldn't lookup words on my german and french dictionary because my Cybook searched only my Italian dictionary, being the book in Italian. That didn't happen on the pc reader: it looked on all dictionaries, giving a higher priority to the Italian one.
I emailed this issue to Bookeen several monts ago and they answered me it is a bug and that they will (would?) correct it.
