I have seen this message before. I think it is a problem with your name server or your local setup.

A name server problem would almost certainly also show up w/ IE8, though.

I've seen this happen as a side effect of an extension (such as some prior NoScript versions).

I manage to freeze my cybook, again. Seam low battery get it to freeze. (I was it froze twice, the first time, it refused to re-boot, flashing to say battery was too low, and today, where the battery showed a 30%.)

Anyone else noticed this kind of symptom ?

Since my Gen 3 came with the mobi firmware by default I tried the Adobe 2.0.
Most of my documents are PDF and the format works more or less like a charm. Besides, I can see the number of pages when I am reading common ebooks (in this case epub) which is pretty handy.
Conversion is not a problem at all but I am missing some another features which mobi offers, it is said, principally a better paragraph flow, the possibility to use a dictionary and create bookmarks. Believe or not I can not make any bookmarks using the Adobe 2.0 version firmware.
Has anyone experiment the same issues? When will we, reader and customers, be able to download a better and painless piece of software? I am pretty sure that a better kernel would improve considerably Cybook functionality. All those freezing and annoying issues belong to software underdevelopment topic, and soon you will need faster rendering of text no matter its complexity. Come on, we are talking about TEXT, it is not rocket science.

It seems that the SDK of Adobe is not Bookmark ready, at least without major modifications...

I really don't see why not, given that Sony and Pocketbook, and all the Jinke clones, support bookmarks with ADE. I wonder what's so different about the way that Bookeen do it?

Why can't Firefox display a site that IE handles without problem?
The site works fine for me in Firefox 3.5.7. I have no idea why it doesn't work for you. But you can try the following.. go to run and type in firefox -p and create anther profile. That will create a default profile with no add-ons or tweaks. Maybe it will work then.

At the very least, it could store page numbers somewhere, I don't think you need any hack to store page numbers, and since you can already "go to" a page number, the functionality is there.

There are lots of annoying differences in Javascript processing between Microsoft and Mozilla. I never ran across one that concerned redirections, but I had to deal with this kind of problem so a fairly simple web application would work with both IE and Firefox. The problems I had to resolve involved differences in addressing text objects on the page. There were usually equivalents, but not always exact ones. IE was usually more tolerant of archaic forms.

If you're obsessed, you might be able to trap it and see the code in an IE js debugger.

Does anyone know why Bookeen cannot have an option for landscape mode for the Gen3? is it that difficult to program into an update? I like the PDF landscape mode but find it amazing that they cannot implement this.
