*Just* three! When I bought the K2 the K1 went to my mom. I also bought the DX and I switch back and forth between the K2 and the DX. Currently I'm using the DX.

I have a K2 and was going to buy my wife one for Christmas. Instead, I got her and my 3 kids the 32GB Ipod Touch. Now they all have the Kindle app installed and can read and buy kindle books on my account.

GOOD NEWS: Purchase one book and 4 people can read it!

BAD NEWS: Taking crap from my teenage boys for having the ENTIRE Twilight series on my Kindle account and having them shown as all read!

1 x Kindle 2 for myself which I gave to my mother when I upgraded to a Kindle DX.
Then I bought 3 refurbed Kindle 1s for my grandparents and brother. They are all very happy with them!

I received a K1 for Christmas. After I broke it, I bought a replacement K1. I also bought a DX. Later I bought my mom a K2. My parents and I went in together and got my sister a DX.

So I guess that is 3.5 for me.

Boy, do I feel left out. So far, I'm up to one Kindle.

I did buy the Kindle 2 around the first day it was available in Canada -- Nov 19. Do I get extra marks for being eager?

I think one is enough for the time being -- I'm not sure I get the need for a "back-up". (YMMV.)

Of course, when the Kindle 3 comes out ....

Bought a K2 for my daughter for Christmas and I fell in love with it.
So, once I finish a couple of pbooks I currently have on my nightstand, I plan on ordering another K2 for myself.
(But I also fear my wife is going to be wanting one as well.)
So, here's to hoping CES will scare Amazon into some price changes or promotions before I'm ready to order. (Although I'm not holding my breath.)

I have a kindle2 and its fine, but I bought it primarily for access to Amazon. I tend to use my 505 most of the time.
