She really put me off with that quote though. Almost snottish.

My first ebook ordered in 2010 is also my first freebie - A STUDY IN SCARLET by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Seeing the Sherlock Holmes movie made me want to read some of the Holmes stuff again.

My first book read (still reading) in 2010 is _World Without End_ the Ken Follett sequel to _The Pillars of the Earth_. So far I am quite enjoying it.

(I think I will be reading alot of Ken Follett this year.)

I got a nook on 12/23, the first book I bought and downloaded was Superfreakonomics and I finished it a few days before the New Year. So I guess the first book I read in the new year was Pirate Latitudes.

Feeling the way she does about ebooks, isn't it amazing she allowed The Time Traveler's Wife to be made into a movie? Couldn't all of her arguments against ebooks be applied equally to cinema?

My first ebook started and finished in 2010 was Sag Harbor by Colson Whitehead.

Lord of Light is one of my all-time faves. It helps if you know a little about Hinduism and Buddhism. Zelazny found just the right balance with this one.

Finished reading the Bible on December 31st, but I timed it that way. Trying to read it through every year.

First book completed in January was "The Phoenix and the Carpet,"

Zombie/PAW and you don't have to like zombies to enjoy this book!

Hello~

I saw this thread and wanted to take the time to promote my husband's, Tony Faville, 1st book. Because it was the first book I read in 2010. It is a zombie/PAW book written in journal format (I know some don't like this format but for what my husband wrote it works and the sequel will not be in this format).

Here is the blurb that is on the back of the book to give you an idea of where Tony is coming from with his book:

From first time author Tony Faville comes a zombie novel for the zombie fans. Tired of zombie movies and zombie books where no one has ever seen a zombie? Tony has chosen to write a novel from the viewpoint of not only knowing what a zombie is, but also being prepared for their rising. He also delves into the human factor of a zombie apocalypse and how living this way day to day will touch even the most sane of individuals.

It is available for purchase through amazon.com here
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?ur...ille&x=12&y=13

or if anyone would like a signed copy $15 via paypal to kingsofthedeadbooks@gmail.com

I, also, want to mention as I stated in the subject...you definitely do not have to like zombies to enjoy this book. It, like many of the better zombie movies, deals more with the people and how they deal with the situation, each other and themselves.

I hope you give Tony's book a chance, I have 100% faith that if you give it a chance you will love it! And if you do pick up a copy, send me a line and let me know what you think. Feedback is important whether it be good or bad.

Thanks for your time,
Heather

Thanks HeadshotHether and welcome to MobileRead and for the point towards a zombie read. WE can always use a good Zombie story, Right DR. DRIB? I will give it a look. Is your husband Tony working on a followup?
