Mrs Robinson is an older lady who had a fling with a very young man. It's not that film (The Graduate) but the wife of the Northern Ireland First Minister. She's 60. He's 19.

I'm in the middle of that one too Bob, but keep interspersing short stories -- and just read today this month's Book Club selection - The Machine Stops. Pillars may be one of those I kind of read in the background of everything else...

Zombie/PAW and you don't have to like zombies to enjoy this book!

Hello~

I saw this thread and wanted to take the time to promote my husband's, Tony Faville, 1st book. It is a zombie/PAW book written in journal format (I know some don't like this format but for what my husband wrote it works and the sequel will not be in this format).

Here is the blurb that is on the back of the book to give you an idea of where Tony is coming from with his book:

From first time author Tony Faville comes a zombie novel for the zombie fans. Tired of zombie movies and zombie books where no one has ever seen a zombie? Tony has chosen to write a novel from the viewpoint of not only knowing what a zombie is, but also being prepared for their rising. He also delves into the human factor of a zombie apocalypse and how living this way day to day will touch even the most sane of individuals.

It is available for purchase through amazon.com here
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?ur...ille&x=12&y=13

or if anyone would like a signed copy $15 via paypal to kingsofthedeadbooks@gmail.com

I, also, want to mention as I stated in the subject...you definitely do not have to like zombies to enjoy this book. It, like many of the better zombie movies, deals more with the people and how they deal with the situation, each other and themselves.

I hope you give Tony's book a chance, I have 100% faith that if you give it a chance you will love it! And if you do pick up a copy, send me a line and let me know what you think. Feedback is important whether it be good or bad.

Thanks for your time,
Heather

How far are you into Pillars? That was one of the few books that I extended my reading beyond my normal throne time because I got so into it.

Hi Kenny and Bob. You might want to follow up with Follett's *World Without End*. It picks up at a slightly later date in history but the background provided by reading *Pillars of the Earth* makes *WWE* even better than it would be otherwise. Cheers. Neil

Hee-Hee, really just the beginning EPUB is 900+ "pages" -- I'm only approaching about 150 or so...

I just started Barry Eisler's "Fault Line," which I borrowed from the library. Not sure if I will like it or not, but I'll give it a shot.

Well, not at all, it seems. Inferno was as good as I remembered it. Escape from Hell was essentially just more of the same, but not as good.

Now for some MilSF from John Ringo - Eye of the Storm, continuing his tale of Mike O'Neel and the Posleen.

That's what I'm reading right now.

It's just getting real good.

Recently finished Dickens' "The Mystery of Edwin Drood".

Now about halfway through Dan Simmons' "Drood" - very engaging, lots of info about the lives of Dickens and Wilkie Collins. I don't think Simmons quite gets the right tone for Wilkie Collins as the narrator; but that's a minor quibble given the entertainment value. I'd recommend it for any fans of Dickens.
