Apple Tablet -- Who needs it? - Page 12

I really find this thread interesting. Most of the people around me who have an Iphone bought it because it is "trendy". In fact a lot of them complain about the actual quality of actually making calls. I personally think it isn't the phone that is of low quality but a problem with ATT. My wife has an iphone and when she first purchased it she raved about it now she pretty much uses it as a phone and does complain about call dropping.

I am a geek by trade and I have several computers including 2 Apples. Most of the time I use my *.nix boxes because I just like them. I do have two ipods but in the end I use my Sansa Clip more because it has a FM radio, it is small and produces better sound.

I think Apple does one thing better than anyone else when it comes to gadgets. They let everyone else start the trend then they come out with something with "wow" factor.

As for the Apple Tablet ...I would guess that we will see one. Will it have a "wow" factor. Not if it is just a large ipod touch!

I bought my Sony PRS-300 because I wanted an ereader not an all in one product.

If and when Apple comes out with a tablet there will be people who line up to buy one just because it is new. I was talking to a few friends the other day about this tablet and one thing I brought up that made everyone think...

If it is a large ipod touch....think about typing on it! How easy would it be to hold it and actually type on it. Apple goes to great lengths to make their products user friendly. I hope they do come out with a tablet or an ereader. Heck nothing like good competition!

It just goes to show that different things appeal to different people - I'd like to see a "big iPod Touch", but I wouldn't personally be interested in a "Tablet Macbook".

Exactly-a 10" iPod Touch alone would be closer to $6-700 dollars alone, and, it is not going to be merely a 64G iPod Touch with a 10" screen.

My mother has had her laptop even longer and she's not had any of those sorts of problems. I do spend time tinkering with my system. But that's me. I don't tinker because I have to fix things.

The Rio Karama was designed to be a music player. And it is. It was never designed to be anything else. iPod's seem to be going multifunction and losing the fact that they started out as music players. Apple could very easily improve the music playback, but they don't feel the need since these devices are used more for other stuff then actual music playing. Besides, people who actually use the Apple earbuds would not know the difference anyway.

I'm not talking the 1st gen iPod Touch. The current iPod Touch was supposed ot have a camera, but does not due to quality control of some kind with the camera.
