Question:
If two people each have a QUE and share an account, can they read the same eBook, file, or ePeriodical at the same time?
Answer:
Each QUE must be individually registered to a unique account.

Um... what now? Is that a no.

No stylus? That's very annoying, actually.

Not having used touchscreens much, I assumed anything that works with a finger will work fine with a stylus or any pen type object. Is that not the case?

The more I read about the Que, the more I am liking the Edge.

Nope, not all touch screens. Some capacitive touch screens are designed to work from the electrical-conductivity of a finger. So a normal hard palm pilot type stylus doesn't work. You'd need something like this: http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?p...21236&cat=2751

Well... If you can solve that problem for $12... it doesn't seem to much of a big deal.

ahahahah, I understand. But, I'm at the opposite side of the spectrum-I don't think I ever want to go back to a stylus now.

Please reveal!

Never mind, just saw the edit.

Hmm. It looks pretty chunky though. I want to be able to write handwritten notes.

I'm with you on that one. Although I think I'd like something a little bigger than the Edge's 9.7 inch screen. No proper stylus support is really disappointing. Maybe I've really been wanting a DR1000 all along.

I'm with you on that. I was hoping to be able to do true markups on the device.

Saw some dated You Tube videos on the QUE and I kept wondering why the demonstrator was using a finger and "palette" for annotations (arrows, stars, flags) and not using a stylus for handwritten notes. The interviewer asked about the use of a stylus and the demonstator had a "deer in headlights" look, like "why would you want that"? She mentioned something to the effect that "we've determined the average business user uses a small set of common annotations and we've provided those" (palette of arrows, stars, circles, flags, etc.).

If it had handwritten notes capability I think I may have taken the plunge ($650) and canceled my order for the PRS-900 despite the shortcomings of the Que that have been mentioned here.

Yea... but the DR1000S is $850US the Edge is $490. Also, the DR1000S has no WiFi. The SW model which they say will be out this summer... who knows what that will cost. The iLiad with WiFi is $300 more than the lite without.

So, even giving them the benefit of the doubt the DR1000SW will be $950. You can buy almost 2 Edge's for that. Heck, they said the 800 would be available Fall 2009 at Best Buy.. and it is nowhere to be seen.

I'm starting to think the same way, Bob.

It looks like the downsides of the Edge (battery life, screen size, weight) might be the least annoying to work around, especially with the lower price.

Have to say I'm scratching my head as to why these products aren't better suited to me. I really thought my needs matched up pretty close to exactly with the minimal design checklist. Is large eink screen, handwritten notes, good pdf support, good battery life really so demanding?

The Edge is also available in a timely fashion. Having to wait until April is another big downside of the Que. And that's before the date inevitably slips!

The edge is great for those who want the two screens. But I wouldn't lug around such a big and heavy device with short battery life! If you just want the lower price and not the second screen, why don't you guys wait for another 9.7" model to appear shortly? Those will be in the $3-400 range.

How "heavy" is it?

IF you turn off the LCD screen and fold it back... is the battery life that much less?
