I live in Belgium and registered my PRS600 in Dutch. Now it seems I cannot buy books from the American reader Store only from bol.com which has less books at a much higher price. Anyone can help?

Hi Anne Marie,
Go to the settings and switch back to US American and the next time you open up the Store it will show Sony Reader Store in America. You must of course be registered with the US store before you can do any purchases, in most cases your own address will work if you exchange zip, state and country fields to valid US choices. (Hint: look up a multinational company and "borrow" their zip and state).

Good luck!

Thnx

Hello ArcticBoy,
Thank you very much. I will certainly try this. I have a good friend with an American address. It seems, but I haven't tried it yet, that you need also an American credit card to pay. Do you know anything about that? And a solution?

kind regards
Anne Marie

Hi Anne Marie,
When I created my account with Sony I looked up the zip and state from IKEA in Michigan (Sorry Sweden...) and there is no problem making purchases from Norway. I have also used the same method with Books on Board.

One thing though - I could not use my Mastercard (creditcard), but my VISA debetcard worked wonderfully. There are no currency-fee or tax, just a straight conversion from USD to NOK (Norw. Kroner). As an example I purchased last year Dan Brown's Lost Symbol for 9.99 USD which equals to 57,- NOK. Not bad considering at the time the hardcover in Norwegian bookstores wanted 399,- NOK for it.

Greetings from land of the midnight fun, eh, I mean the midnight sun...
