Yes. At the bit at the end where he went and saw all his old companions for the last time. Definitely a tear in the eye there. Very moving indeed.

Yes i shed a tear or 3 as well. I still wish Eccelston had stuck around longer but Tenant was absolutely fantastic. I'm loathe to say he was better than Tom Bakers Doctor but I can say its very close.

Tom Baker was my first. I liked Peter Davison after a bit and didnt like Colin Baker but I only saw maybe his first 2 episode. Ive never seen the 7th but I hear he was quite good I want to find his episodes now.

I've just read about thje 2 Doctors episode with Peter Davison an David Tenant for the BBCs Children in Need Charity "Time Crash". Its set just before Doctor #10 crashed into the Titanic

I desperately want to see it now- preferably legally.

My first doctor was Tom Baker. One of the local PBS station ran ALL of the Dr. Who series in order and I was able to see them all. Well all that BBC has left. I even saw the two Dr. Who moves the BBC did and the one Fox did.

My First Doctor was Tom Baker. Now that we've found that we can pick up a PBS channel that carries it, I couldn't be more excited! But, they were in the middle of the 2nd season, when we found it. My 11 yr-old daughter and her BF, who has a sleepover every Saturday night to watch it are totally hooked, as am I (no surprise there)! They amaze me with how many lines and dialogues they can recite from the all of the shows they've seen! They also love to taunt me with lines like "Are you my mummy?" (makes my skin crawl... shudders)

They showed the rest of Season 2 and Season 3, before going back and restarting with Season 2. (At least we got to see the Season 2 episodes we missed.) Then, I found out that I could get Season 1 from Netflix, so we got to watch those. "Fantastic!" I don't mind seeing them over and over again, but I hope we'll get to see Season 4 this time around! They'll cry their eyes out when David Tennant leaves, er... regenerates!

I love the T-shirt too! Do you know if they make a Tardis Christmas ornament? I always try to give my daughter an ornament each year that represents something meaningful from that year. Maybe I should check out that catalog for starters! It would be a little late, but our tree is still up! I'm never in a hurry to take it down!

Wait...What? Kids are less and less kids these days!

I'm guessing from this thread that I should really be watching a season or two of Doctor Who, right?

I know - my 12 year old nieces are scarily grown up in some ways

And definitely (and then a few more if you get hooked... there's been 10 Doctors to date, so it should keep you busy for a while )

I'm sad to see him go.

I know exactly how you feel. I didn't cry, but yeah.

I think I did cry when we lost Rose!

I just added about half a billion of the older episodes to my Netflix queue. I have DVD player that will stream Netflix, so I only added those episodes that will stream. It's a lot. More tears coming.

Also the new season with the new doctor, though not yet available, is up for "saving".

I just took a look at the wikipedia page for Doctor Who - it's impressive! And since 2005, the CBC is a co-producer, so the show is also Canadian, one more plus...

My weekend plans are made!

Colin Baker suffered from a number of quite dreadful scripts (his introductory story, "The Twin Dilemma", is particularly awful).

There's a company called "Big Finish" (www.bigfinish.com) who have the rights to produce Dr Who audio stories (both sold on CD and available as MP3 download), featuring the original Doctors. Colin Baker is a major participant in these, and many of these audio stories show what a great Doctor he could have been, given the opportunity.

But the first part of his first scene with Peri was good (Peri: "I... I... I..." Doctor: "Three Is in one sentence? You must be a very self obsessed young lady" Or words to that effect)

Matt Smith is the eleventh Doctor, right? But this means... that there are only 2 incarnations left...

The End Is Nigh! Ok, not so nigh... but thinking "only two doctors left" is somewhat scary: my children will not enjoy Doctor Who for as long as I did (and I am young - I was born 19 years after the first episode!)
