@MobileXT:

Our built in GPS model is G591C which support COM5 and 9600 baud rate.
You said Most of the GPS software support only the 4800 baud rate,Could you supply us with one for testing to improve our A81.That will be appreciated.

Back from vacation, and I'm pretty much finished with my V7 review.

Yey
We'll be looking forward for your review then Coldsun .

Perhaps you will explain this in your review, but how does SmartQ V7 compare to it's own brother SmartQ7 and compared to W1060? But I think we will see it in your review .

I want to congratulate everyone with a happy new year.

I've been watching this for a bit and I've got a few questions. First, is there a leather case available for the A81/W1060 that's similar to the one JT sells for the Q7? Second, the Q7 WinCE firmware now inlcudes LBE game launcher - this is necessary because SmartQ did not implement WinCE's version of DirectX.. so does the A81 have all of the DirectX functions implemented, does it include something like LBE launcher or were these functions left out entirely?

Hey have you guys seen the new Freescale "smartbook" for less then $200 :

An overview of the Freescale reference design:

* Display: 7-inch (1024 x 600) touch screen
* Processor: Freescale i.MX515 processor based on ARM Cortex-A8 core
* Connectivity: 3G modem (option) 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS
* Memory: 512 MB DDR2
* Storage: from 4GB to 64GB internal storage; removable micro SD
* Camera: 3 Mpixel (video recording up to VGA 30fps)
* Sensors: 3-axis accelerometer and an ambient light sensor
* Adobe Flash Player support
* Operating system: Android or Linux
* Price: under $200

If they are truly going to sell these things then the Chinese MID's will be in trouble . I really hope this will be available in my local shop, then I won't have to buy online and wait for the package to arrive.

We will be posting a lot of articles from CES this week on UMPCPortal and Carrypad. Make sure you watch! There are so many good LCD devices coming out. I'm almost done with my SmartV7 review, but I'm going to be completely honest here - if you already have a Q7, in my opinion the performance increase of the V7 is not a good enough reason to buy one. Also, if you are buying a new MID, there are going to be MANY better choices soon. More in my review to be posted in a matter of HOURS.

@Houndx:

Sorry I can't follow you what does Direct3d Mobile mean?
One thing more,A81 can support to surf on 3G network by connected to HUAWEI E5 EVDO (wireless surf card).But E5 doesn't have production in bulk.And it costs much .So maybe a little difficute to be popular at present.

Kathy, Direct3D Mobile was added to Windows CE starting with version 5.0 and is a COM based 3D acceleration api for applications such as a games and 3D gps programs.

edit: to be clear, it is a replacement for GAPI that was used in WinCE 4.2

Hi all,
Joined today, because I'm interested in buying such device.
My primary goal for it is to be cheap and primary targeting is internet browsing, if skype will work it will be great!!! It's better to have at least 1024x600 resolution and 7 inches. And it should be able to browse smoothly many sites. I does not care about OS inside.

Sorry for my language and stupid question, but is there any device like this? I searched through internet and did not find anything like this?

Regards,
Dmitry.

1024*600 ≠ cheap

There is nothing wrong with your language , but unless the device posted here https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=202 actually arrives at the price quoted you may have to wait a while for one to appear.
