That was the next year, 1986. Patio covers all over town collapsed from the load. I taught my parents how to slice snow with a yardstick, as the snow was about to break to break down the evergreen shrubs from the weight.

The weather forecasters are teasing us with snow for Thursday. Problem is that they're calling it "rain/snow showers" which is not a good thing for Southern drivers. Sounds like a slushy mess to me.

Indeed! It's 12 degrees F. up here in the Frozen North today (Illinois is earning my nickname for it). Low of -2 tonight, it might warm up to 18 tomorrow. I don't think it's supposed to get above freezing for the next 7 days, at least.

Already about 1-2cm of snow here in Hertfordshire

We'll be knee-deep in it by the end of tomorrow it seems!

Snowed in the morning and early afternoon here - about 2 inches. Nothing now though, so I think its moved off south now.

not us yet, i don't think (but it is awfully dark outside, so who knows ?). anyway it's not supposed to snow till tomorrow here. there is an extreme weather alert over about half the country for snow right now. in brittany it started today and i heard on the radio they were worried about having electricity outtages because of the weather !

really bad time to lose your heat.
