No we ship the goods within Europe for the standard send costs of 14 euro. And also outside europe, but then the costs will be some higher. (Then please send an email). For the Dutch and the German market the shipcosts are lower.

I've read that the boox has a lot of software bugs (dictionaries, note taking and other stuff often don't work)...is it true?

You can update the software by follow steps:
1 Download the latest updates package from Onyx website: www.onyx-international.com 2 Save the updates package in a SD card. 3 Make sure the updates package is located at the root directory of the SD card. The name should be ‘onyx_update.upd’. 4 Insert the SD card into Boox. 5 Restart Boox, press and hold the OK button. NOTE, the OK button should be pressed before the device restarts. Hold it until you see the message ‘Software update request detected, checking updates…’. 6 Boox updates itself automatically. It restarts after update finishes. Reminder: Make sure Boox has enough power to finish the software update (at least 2 grids displayed). |

1 question again (what a pain i am):
in the comparison matrix there's written that the boox has 8 level resolution and no text-to-speach but in some video they told that it has 16 level and the text-to-speach function...who's right? |

its 8 currently but the display is capable of 16. 16 will be returning in a future update. Text To Speech will be returning in version 1.5 of the firmware.

I am interested in Boox but even after reviewing videos and forum posts, am unsure about notetaking functions. I want to use Boox for notetaking. I see that existing docs can be marked on/marked up, but please tell me if a new document can be created on the device and sketches or notes saved there? What document and/or image formats can this be done in?
Also interested in current status of wireless connectivity beyond WiFi. Robert |
