Me either. I guess I need to keep track. I've really only read a few full novels this year (maybe as many as 6), but I've also been reading Interzone and Analog, and game books on my DR. RPG core books tend to run about 60,000 to 150,000 words.

So all that together. . .maybe 35 or so?

I really don't know. One of the Yahoo groups I'm in, some of the members keep track of what they read and post a monthly list. I tried it, and failed miserably after about a week. I think I'm going to try it again, the challenge for me is remembering to write down the books I'm reading, either while doing it or when I'm done with it. Maybe if I add another Sticky note to my desktop...although I'm running out of desktop to put stickies on...

Shel, are you on GoodReads? A lot of people keep track on there with the 100+ book challenge. You get a dedicated thread and you just post every time you finish a book.

I want to start keeping track of the books I read but I don't know which method to use. I could, of course, just make a spreadsheet but I could also register for librarything, goodreads, or shelfari. Shelfari looks like it has the best UI but is there a MR consensus on which one is the best/most useful?

I went through this too, the first time I read about SAS troopers wearing a jumper.

What I found is that it can mean several different articles of clothing besides a dress as in American English.

As for the number of books read, now that the year is officially over...

97 novels, God only knows how many magazines, and some very, very strange T-shirt and Jackets (One has to live in Japan to understand this.)

In the United Kingdom, a solicitor is a lawyer. Here in the United States, a solicitor is a prostitute. An amazing example of how the two dialects are essentially identical.

Ah, so this joke will now make sense to you:

Q: What do you get if you cross a sheep with a kangaroo?
A: A wooly jumper.

My dress uniform as an enlisted sailor in the US Navy was a woolly jumper. Come to think of it I was married wearing a woolly jumper.
