The 'Regan Reilly' series by Carol Higgins Clark. I liked the first one and got the rest of them for like $2 each. They are *terrible.* I get annoyed every time I see them cluttering up my reader. Off they go to the delete bin!

I really enjoyed it! I finished it a couple of weeks ago.

Oh that stinks! At least they were super cheap, right?

I'm reading Alan Hutcheson's "Boomerang" and I'm really enjoying it! Reminds me (writing style) of Douglas Adams. Definitely worth the $1.99 I paid for it!

Yeah, but on the one hand I am a very frugal buyer and I hate to just throw away something I've paid for. On the other hand, I have *so* much else on my to read list that I don't want to waste my time on terrible stuff when there is good stuff I can read instead I keep looking at that best of 2009 thread thinking 'those all sound great!' and I don't want to read junk when I have better choices. But I *paid* for it...

Anyway, lesson learned. None of this 'complete the series' business, I'll buy books as I want to read them and not buy ten at once. Times like this I resent that I can't resell an ebook. If someone would pay me the $10, I would happily email them the files and delete my own, but that's not allowed, is it?

No

I only went out on a limb once and bought a bundle of a series, but that was because it was really cheap, and it worked out in the end.

Another time I passed on a bundle of a series (which had good savings) fearing I wouldn't like the books. Of course, I loved them.

Hey, you never know though, maybe one day down the road you'll change your mind and want to try them again?

It seems I really ought to keep better track of what I've read - I find I have read this one before after all. On to "Dragon's Fire"

And I was wrong again. I must have read it as soon as I bought it - back in June 2008.

But I'm 100% sure I haven't read Dragonheart - I only bought that one this December!

Just finished the last book of the Great Tales of English History. I've moved on to Harry Turtledove's Ruled Britannia.

Look at it this way: you already wasted your money on them. Wasting your time (which IMHO is much more valuable) as well won't give you the money back

A few days ago I read A Landing on the Sun by Michael Frayn. It's only the second book of his I read, after Spies, and I find that I really enjoy his writing style. It manages to be relaxed and introspective, but at the same time gripping and exciting. I'll try Headlong next chance I get.

Today I finished Ian Rankin's The Complaints. I'm a big fan of Ian Rankin, and I certainly enjoyed the book, but it felt lighter than his previous novels. Maybe I'm just missing Rebus. Ok, yes I am.

On to The Movie now, by Bosley Gravel. (thanks Neil!) I'm already 50 or so pages in (started it only today) and I'm enjoying it much more than I expected (and I did expect to enjoy it). More extensive comments after I finish it.
