Not true. My Opus still crashed twice since the update.
That truly sucks aceflor. I was sincerely hoping the crashes were gone.

I guess that means this firmware release provides no value whatsoever to those coming from 1.9, just more bugs.

I really hope Bookeen can provide some real answers early in the new year. I'm wont be holding my breath though.

Setting your own font and justification is an improvement worth the upgrade, in my opinion.

Fair call. I have to say I like the justification setting too. I have yet to experiment with the font setting though.

Reset with SD works too. Though i never HAD to use it.
And i think they did someting with margins and page numbers.
It hasn't crashed while reading. (Well, even before the update, it went for a while without crashing too.)

I am seriously bouncing with glee, as I just discovered this upgrade today. My Bookeen had the most recent software prior to this one (1.4, I think), but it had blown up, and although it was relatively functional, I was not happy with it, and was considering sending it back for a firmware upgrade - and now I don't need to, and it has fixed its problems! Now to see how stable it is - 1.4 crashed all the time!

I've stayed with 1.5 rather than 2.0 as most of my downloads are in Mobipocket format, and such a bore to have to redownload them or convert them all (Stanza will do this, of course, but still a nuisance). I'm debating downloading new stuff in epub and converting with Stanza, as I can then read them on the iPod as well....

I grabed my book, import everyting in calibre, convert everyting, and voila. I was glad at that point i had already done the de-drm part.

Post on an other message board, but i coudn't help think about the firmware update.

Quote:
One question I can answer, sort of: When is "soon"? "Soon" is a highly-technical term here at Cyan. It means later than "Now" but before "Someday".

The complete scale goes something like this: Now, Very Soon, Soon, Later Than Soon, Sooner Than Later, Later, Much Later, Eventually, Someday, Forget It
Hope that helps.

Just wanted to report that since I updated to 1.5 page turns are much improved! Not really much faster, but the page actually turns every time you press the button. On the old firmware, pressing the button would almost always just light the LED for a moment, but no page turn. Now the page turns every time the button is pressed. Very welcome improvement!!!

P.S. Love folder view!!!

The 900's ePub does allow for full justification and for margin removal. Also, the right margin page number is no longer there. Also, the two page landscape mode works pretty well.

JSWolf, do you already have a PRS-900?

I've been looking at them for a while. How do you find the screen in comparison to the 505?

I don't have a 900. But I was looking at it in the SonyStyle store today. The screen is about the same as the 600 but with 16 shades instead of 8 shades. As long as you keep the screen fairly clean, it's pretty good. I know some complain of the glare and reflection, but I didn't have any issues with that in the shop. I really liked the size and the speed as well as how ADE works on the 900.

Does it justify the text when it is not specified in the ePUB file, or does it just obey the "text-align: justify" property?
