I have installed 1.5.
First, there is NO increase in speed in any process. Secondly, when I use the contextual menu in library view to change to Folder view, it aplies that view ONLY to the currently selected book and its mates; and I can only move around and view books in that folder. Everything else in the Library is unviewable unless and until I go back and unselect Folder view. Is that how it is supposed to work? Because, if so, it is useless. |

That is the point, it simply does not show a directory or sub-folders, or anything but the current folder and the books in that folder.

Although you seem to be perfectly fine in giving Bookeen plenty of time to push out their updates without any explanation for delays, a lot of their customers obviously aren't - and unless Bookeen is content to lose business from everyone who isn't as patient as you are, they should do something about their PR policy ASAP. It's not expensive, but helps re-gaining lost customer trust, getting repeat business and good word-of-mouth. And for the record: I like my Cybook - that's why I'm complaining instead of quietly abandoning Bookeen. Actually, I'm only using 1.5 anyway right now, but seeing how Bookeen handles this 2.0 bug will probably be the one thing that'll decide whether I'm even going to consider buying another Bookeen device ever again. (Right now, I wouldn't - but if they suddenly surprise me with really good service, I might reconsider.) |

Aaahhhh! You have to remove the SD Card, then set it up to Folder view, then put the card back in.
And then you have your folders. And then it also does seem quicker. |

You're all getting so annoyed about ONE bug. Plus really, how long do you spend browsing the library ? To me that's about 1% i use the cybook.
Samsung, with on of their update, broke a function on my Mp3. player. First thought : bha be fixed with next update. Next update comes, and the next, and the next, still no fix. It seam now the samsung have decided to stop update for the P3, and it will not be fixed. Maybe we should have send more mail to Samsung, making sure they knew it was important. But guess what, all annoyed and frustrated i am by that mess, I still love my p3, I don't mean to part with it anytime soon, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their PMP. Quote:
All of the bug that where found on the opus are fixed. How about that ? Took some time, but it's fixed. (Ok, my bad, there is still the bug with pdf and images sometimes displaying weird, still not a bad record though) Last edited by EowynCarter; 12-29-2009 at 04:03 AM. |

Maybe you should have emailed Samsung letting them know it was important. Maybe then they would have fixed it?
I use the library a fair bit. I store a lot of reference books on my Opus so I am not just reading on book at a time and I use the library to find my other books and documents. That's really not the point though. As Baumi has stated, if you are fine with the bugs (there are more than one, in both firmwares) and you don't mind waiting until Bookeen decide they want to release a fix then that's great, good for you. However I am not happy with that and clearly neither are others. I don't want to wait months for my reader to work properly again. This firmware release was poorly handled and poorly tested. There is no disputing that. I can't understand why you seem to be so insistent on defending Bookeen. Do you have some connection to them? |

The major issue for me was stability of the firmware. My Opus froze quite a few times with the 1.9 FW. Bookeen seems to have fixed that. Since upgrading I've had no freezes at all. I can live without metadata as long as I don't need to worry about the freezes.

At the end of the day this is a forum for people to discuss Bookeen devices whether for good or bad. You really shouldn't take it so personally. @Crusader I am also very pleased the freezing issue seems to have been fixed - I haven't experienced any since the upgrade either. I can live without the metadata. I just don't want to! ![]() |

I have only made a couple of posts about the bug itself. The vast majority of my correspondence about this has been with you. You are dragging this out. You have spent the last god knows how many posts trying to argue that it's not important, it's not a big deal and I should just get over it. To me it is important - you can't disagree with that, it's how I feel.

Lets be clear. I am entitled to my opinion, as are you. We disagree. Get over it. Move on. Quote:

We waited a very (!) long time for an update, so I am very surprised to see it still does not work as it should. Do yourself a favor Eowyn: open your mind, look around, try other devices. And don't start a fight everytime someone is not happy about bookeen, this is just infantile. |

I had that wiedness with the opus going back to menu when i tried opening an ePub, it never did that before, and didn't do it again. Quote:
Now, the other two don't really offer anything i need the cybooks don't so i see no point in spending $$ in an other reader. I'll be curious to see your 360 at the next apéro though ![]() Last edited by EowynCarter; 12-29-2009 at 07:37 AM. |
