If they cancelled it, more than likely even if it shows in your archives its been 'removed'.

Turn on your whispernet......and see what happens. I'm betting you won't be able to see or re-download it......but you'll never know until you try!

I apologize for lowering the level of discourse, and do so under the same name I've been posting under since I started here.

Interesting. I don't know what to tell you. You have two choices.

1) Delete the book yourself. Ditto the archives version.

2) Keep it and read it, even tho you haven't paid for it.

The ball is back in your court........

Interesting handle, there.

You might want to go to our "introduce me" page, start a new thread, and let us welcome you properly.

Tell us a little about yourself there.....

I think I've done enough of that here.

Lady, you have become my "Rock of Gilbraltar". I don't know how you do it, but the stuff in these forums run off your shoulders like rain on a duck. If I could only be half as tough as you!

I just got a refurb K1 two months ago, and I think this thing is the greatest piece of hardware I've laid my hands on since what, the ibm pc back in 1980ish? (yep, I'm in my "fifties") These things are going to take off like wildfire now that people are really starting to get interested. All of you publishers out there are in for a real ride... Good luck on trying to close the gate on the corral! You are a little too late!

Sorry you're having problems, Ozone123, and I hope you can eventually work it out. The rest of us are actually having a good time...

Oh my stars and bars! You do have a way with words, Michael.

You obviously haven't caught my 'dumb' posts yet.....

I must say you have excellent taste in your choice of devices........I've had mine since June of 08, and my life hasn't been the same since.

Lots of new devices coming out, improvements, etc.

so far, I haven't seen anything I'd trade my K for......regardless of the naysayers, or those who call it "ugly" or complain about it not supporting epub.

You just adjust........and find how to make the thing work. And you don't look back.

However, ebooks are like books........everyone has their favorite 'author'...............or brand.

Viva la difference! Thanks for the kind words.

Interesting thread indeed...

My kindle experience has been nothing but pleasant. In fact I'm going to run down to starbucks, have a breakfast sandwich and cup of coffee and read my Kindle!!

I've had amazon screw things up particularly shipping, but they've always fixed the problems to my complete satisfaction.

I had some questions for the OP, but I'll just hold off, they would just add fuel to the fire...

All Cork people are gents...

TBH - this seems like there's a glitch. Give them a wee bit of time to sort it out.

To reverse the situation somewhat I had issues with my CC company as they were blocking my kindle purchases - small amounts in rapid succession. A quick call (no fees) and the issue was resolved.

Sometimes talking things through and biding your time (especially if the money is only a small amount) is the best policy. Biting the head off people who are only trying to offer solutions & ideas is not.

Do you have Whispernet turned on? If it's not on the book can't be downloaded.

Do you have decent coverage. Depending on your location Whispernet may not be relaible enough to download books. In that case, you can download the book to your computer and use the USB cable to transfer the book to your Kindle.

BTW, welcome to Mobileread!
You don't even need to go to manage on the computer, on the kindle instead of showing just what is on your device show all and it will be there. Click on it and it should start downloading. If it cues and doesn't download there maybe an issue with either your wifi or your device. Sometimes just "forgetting" the wifi connection and redoing it works. If all else fails then your suggestion above will get it on your device.
