I had a feeling this newest act of lunacy would make travel even more difficult. I'm all for keeping everybody safe, but I still think the whole removing of shoes thing is incredibly stupid from the last botched attempt. One guy tries to ignite his shoes and the rest of us are now required to put them through the screener. It just doesn't make any sense. I agree that our airport security has become reactionary, with good cause to some extent, but what ever happened to common sense. The likelihood that someone is going to make an attempt at a failed act again is illogical. I would love to know if they found anymore "shoe bombs". If they really want to subvert any attacks on the plane, they need to do something about the person who sits in front of me and has to completely recline their seatback into my lap, especially when my tray is down and holding my cup of ice water! |

I must have missed the part where the guy used a Nook to light his pants on fire.

I suspect the next thing will be (and any of you writers out there are welcome to take this as a plot element) ingested time-release (dissolving) vials of chemicals that explode when combined.......

I am waiting for someone to try and blow up a plane using a baby carseat. What will they do then, ban babies?

The banning of electronics on international flights is not in place. For now, it's just a rumor. And I hope it never becomes fact. it's bad enough that for the last hour, we get to pee in our seats.

Edit: Note, I meant the flight name, not the logo painted on the plane. Delta says that Northwest flights will still be flying with that name until the merger is complete. Last edited by Shaggy; 12-28-2009 at 04:49 PM. | |

Well, it seems like "Fahrenheit 451" will finally come in handy. No need for any reading device. Just recite your favorite novel word by word and enrich the lives of your fellow passengers. Just imagine. "Excuse me, stewardess, may I switch places with that lady in row 24? I'd like to hear a new book. I already had to listen to 'Gone with the Wind' for three times since we took off in Anchorage ..." |
