Hi there, I am quite careful about my reader. tyle is also important. So I have had the Sony tri-fold cover and then the black leather folder. Loved the leather one the most. Then a couple of weeks ago, took the reader out of my bag and found the reader out of the cover! One of the black plastic clips that holds the reader on the two ends had broken (must have been jarred). I was dissappointed and went back to my trifold. Today I put the reader on the arm of the chair and knocked it off as I sat down. The clip is this one broke as well! I am so annoyed about this. £50 down the drain.

So I have just ordered the tuff-love. No more of those stupid clips ;-). What I am not sure about is holding the reader without the left hand cover. How will this feel? Well, I have a few days to get used to it I guess as I wait for the new cover.

Will let you know how it goes.

Cheers
Craig

I have the same question. Usually I read one-handed so top-hinge won't matter, but occasionally I hold the reader and left cover like a regular book. Also, wondering how often I would actually use the cover or stand to prop the reader up (a feature only Tuff-Luv has at the moment). Sounds nice for reading at a table.

Looking forward to your feedback. Welcome to the forum by the way. I'm kind of new myself, but was lurking here for months before joining and posting.

Just thought I'd jump in & mention that M-edge just came out with new covers that use corner straps (I, too, went through 2 covers where the clip broke, including my beloved tri-fold)... They work like a book like the Sony covers do. Not being able to hold it like a book was one of the reasons I didn't go with the Tuff-Luv case...

I've been using my tuff-luv case for a couple of weeks now and I love it. I wasn't sure about holding it, but wanted something to protect my reader in my bag because I take it everywhere with me.

I find it easier to hold than the sony case, in either hand, and use the stand more than I thought I would eg reading in bed so I don't have to touch it except when I'm turning the pages. I haven't had any problems with the strip on the right side blocking the number buttons that others have mentioned, and I wouldn't swap it.

I also discovered at the weekend that the stand means I can read while painting my fingernails - something I've given up on with pbooks!

Right, I promised to let you know what I thought of the TF after I had tried it. Arrived from Amazon.co.uk early on Tuesday morning. By this time I was used to holding the reader with one hand, not like a book that the Sony covers offer. I found it OK, but was nervous about damaging the reader.

Got the TF and slipped the reader in. Good, tight fit, so feels very solid. The cover feels nice and has padding to protect the reader. It does not look as bad as I thought it might. Been reading away this week and I have to say that I love this cover. Far far better that the Sony offerings. And, my biggest concern, getting used to in not being in a book style - fantastic, actually a lot easier that the book style, which could at times irritate the skin between thumb and first finger of the left hand.

Very happy, will definitely recommend this cover.

Cheers
Craig

PS: Like justlizz I find that I am using the little picture stand effort on the back. That was something that I at first did not like about the cover and never thought that I would use! :-)

Craig, thanks for reporting back your experiences. I'm thinking about ordering the Tuff-Luv case even though I just purchased the newly redesigned m-edge case.

M-edge looks really nice, but it bows in the middle if a shock or pressure is applied to the cover. Impact can be transferred directly to the number keys on the right side of the 505. You can hear the keys click with even slight pressure. Also the strap is slightly annoying when reading, but you can fold the strap under if the cover is folded back one-handed style.

It appears that Tuff-Luv would be better at protecting the 505 screen and controls from shock/pressure to the front or back of the cover. Now I believe that thin leather strip down the right side functions as a shock absorber--especially for the 0-9 buttons. This is what the m-edge is missing.

I'm another Tuff-Luv fan. I travel a lot, and as a saddo who often ends up eating alone, find the stand really useful.

A few months ago, I was travelling in the desert. I wanted to take my reader with me, but was very concerned about dust. I cut up an unused silicon cover, and used this to protect the ports at the top and bottom of the reader (I found I needed to put the bottom piece of silicon into the tuff luv first, then work it round the reader). Betwen this and the tuff luv, I felt confident the reader was well protected in what was a pretty hostile environment for a sensitive piece of equipment.

After several months of frequent use, the thin piece of leather along the right hand side hasn't deformed at all, and now lies completely flat (when it was new and stiff, it had a bit of a curve). I had thought I might find it irritating, but I don't often use the numbered buttons anyway.

Hi,

I am getting my first ebook tonight the Sony PRS 505 and have been looking at the Tuff Luv case and I like it alot but I really like their apocalypse style of cases, especially the dragon design case. I am just wondering if there are any cases out there with this same type of design on? If not I will go with the plain one from Tuff Luv as it sounds like a great case.

Uh, has anyone by any chance tried the waterproof cover?

I'd be interested in that as it would allow me to sit in my babypool and read without worrying about the reader taking a swim as well.

The flip top cover is perfect. I found that once I got over the feeling that it didn't open like a traditional treebook (about two minutes after I fitted it), I discovered all its advantages. Easier to hold (slip a finger or two of your left hand through the loop and the back and it leaves your left thumb freen for page turning); much less cumbersome for single-handed reading in bed; free standing if you eat while you sleep. It also feels, looks and smells great. Cheers. Neil
