I tried to test out setting my account to US and purchasing a book with Micropay. Unfortunately it didn't work. The transaction went through and the book is in my bookshelf, but it requires a CC to verify and no matter what I do I can't get it verified...

Guess I need to beg for a refund on the 'accidental purchase'.

Thanks that worked. Unfortunately I already completed a support ticket. Wonder if I can just ask them to disregard it. I don't want my account to get banned/locked.

Has anyone been warned or have their account suspended/locked by Fictionwise for using workarounds?

I'm pleased to announce that I didn't run into any trouble. I even tested the CC workaround and it works beautifully by using a valid US address and your own name and CC number. Looks like Fictionwise will be getting much more of my business...

The second check only seems to be on certain books. Downloading from a US IP seems to remove it once you download it for the first time.

Just try to be from Romania and then..
Almost every book in under this geographic restrictions, no matter EU, MasterCard. I am so angry. Maybe they think is better for me to use illegal methods

What I find most frustrating: not having access to books that I ALREADY PURCHASED at Fictionwise because of the geographic restrictions. I've posted about this at:
