What about 2.1

Let try to make a list of features that would be nice to have, bugs to fix, all that.

Bugs
- The +- shortcuts on gen3 sometimes won't answer (btw making these shortcut works for pdf too

)
- Metadata for ePub not read anymore
- The Status Bar is hiding images and hiding text for pdf files in landscape mode. This seems to me to be an obvious bug.
- Images in pdf are messed up on some zoom level.
- margin cropping won't detect image and cut them.
- text missing from pdf with some zoom ratio.

All / Menus
- Beter getion of landscape mode without the accelerometer. (Menus, ePub can be swiched to lanscape only with the accelerometer)
- shortcut to activate / de-activate accelerometer.
- Ability to display in the folder field, how many files/directories there are in it, and how much space they take (can be empty fields until folder is entered, or when the information is old)
- Encoding selection
- Assign thumbnails to folders
- A direct dictionary input.
- Move books and folders between folders in Folder view.

Mobi
- Page numbers

ePub
- Hyphenation
- Bookmarks
- Dictionary
- Multi level TOC

One very obvious thing lacking: bookmarks in ePub files (unless they've put them back in 2.0?)

I would like to see page numbering as an option in 1.5 (or is this just about 2.0)? I happen to like to know if I am at 100 of 1000 or 400 of 1000 and the like.

User css stylesheets to override not only fonts and justification, but also margins, colour and whatever (and to affect page numbers).

Full support for ncx TOCs with multilevel and navlists (or has it changed in 2.0?), and skipping flows with linear="no".

Small caps (or has it changed in 2.0?) and oeb-page-head/oeb-page-foot.

It would probably avoid confusion if you were to start a new thread for the Mobi firmware and leave this one for ePub.

No, it doesn't

. ePub files have no hyphenation. We're talking about the device breaking a long word at the end of a line and inserting a hyphen, to make justification work better. The Mobi firmware does this; the ePub firmware doesn't.

With the new firmware, though, you can arrange the library screen in whatever way you wish by using folders. I use one folder per author, so my library screen does list by author now.

That's all I can think of at the moment, and those aren't terribly important ones:

- The option to select text encoding for TXT and HTML files, or at least support for encoding information embedded in HTML file,
- Support for %xx style Unicode characters in HTML files,
- Some support for dictionaries in 2.0 so I can switch from 1.5 someday,
- Ability to display in the folder field, how many files/directories there are in it, and how much space they take (can be empty fields until folder is entered, or when the information is old)

Maybe one day someone will put all suggestions from this thread together and email them to Bookeen. Someone whose emails they answer.

EDIT:

- The additional interface for redefining the keys, with many actions assignable to keys, to be able to assign a menu option to a key, for example a Lookup option. Ability to assign action to key only in certain place (Library, HTML book, PDF book, MP3 player for example). Also ability to save key configuration, and quickly switch between saved key configurations. This way, on hard reset it would switch to default key configuration and so the device wouldn't be locked even if the user defined a key configuration which made it impossible to access some device functions and redefine the keys again.
