The first email answer was:

Now, to me that means that the date of Cybook firmware release jumps by a few days forward every time they answer an email.

Why don't you stop emailing them?

I received my repaired Gen 3 this evening the and enclosed note said that the firmware would be released before the end of the year.

Of course, the note didn't state which year!

Well, at least you have other devices to read on.

If "before the end of the year", will most likley to be december 28,29,30. Today or 31 seams unlikely.
From what bookeen says, I'm hopefull we get it before 31 january 2010.

This is beginning to sound like they have a definite date in mind. The end of the year is getting a bit too close for it just to be a generic "sometime soon" statement.

I think more likely harry contacted bookeen, than the other way around.

And yeah, before the end of the year sounds better than "soon". Bookeen seams to know what they are up to now.

If they were smart, they would release it on Christmas day as a present to all of us who have been waiting for this firmware update. Wrap it in a bow, include a nice card, and promise to never let this happen again.
