Sony Reader Site Woes

For about the past 12 hours, the Sony Web site seems to be having problems. When I open it, I get the vague message An Error Has Occurred. And instead of the usual home page, you get largely a blank page although the usual header is there offering links to Categories, Best Sellers etc. And if you click on them, they open the appropriate page. But try to do a search and you get the An Error Has Occurred message. Same problem when I open the site via the Library software.

Also, the site will not let me log into my account

Anybody else having this problem?

I got that earlier as well, but it seems to be working now.

Two of my purchases are still not available though.

I called Sony and they had me open the site with Internet Explorer vice Mozilla which I was using and that seemed to do the trick. Also, the separate Library software is now working. Go figure.

I was able to go there with Firefox, but the Library App gave the error you indicated.

You are not alone, although by this morning it seems to be working, sort of. It looks like they had a software hiccup that is slowly being fixed. I hesitate to try to buy anything right now until whatever's wrong is fixed.

Too bad Sony is so opaque about what is going on.

I think they are still working out the kinks from switching to epub. It was a very big change.

It is working with my browser - Firefox -- but I don't have the Sony Library software installed on this (my work) machine.

Also it seems since they added the link/ability to download Google Books they no longer list any freebies.

Software loaded at home = not working, software not loaded at work = not working

I just installed the 3.1 Sony Library here on this (work) machine (xp-pro) and it is working correctly. Connected right up with the Sony Store.

Just tried here from the Reader Library software - same issue.

Never stopped for me, except for one very brief period when it wouldn't connect.

But the do now have The Year of The Flood in EPUB! Yea!!!!
