NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

All I had was the 5% off and I was holding the line, as it just wasn't 'worth it" to ONLY get 5% + 15% off and 40%-60% off or rebate on all their books...

That's not bad news, that's GOOD news - you just saved me 25% on a couple of books that I'll be buying (discount or not) when they're released either tomorrow or next Monday. Thanks!

So for my initial spend of $19.89 I got 7 books (2 Multiformat and rest secured ePub) which comes to $2.84 a book. Very nice!

As a matter of interest I tallied up the local paperback prices for the books and it comes to around $70 - $100. So the ebooks work out at 3x - 5x cheaper!

Where do you find these coupon codes? I'm a great fictionwise customer -- buy tons of stuff and they never send me codes like that. I find the codes all here.

I found this code while doing a Google search. Guess luck was on my side.

Thanks for the deal and the coupon codes. I'm new to ebooks and have just purchased a 1 yr membership at FW plus 2 books. This came to a total of $52 plus change that I paid and it gave me over $50 in micropay balance. I then bought 4 various magazine issues and the first 9 Dresden Files novels using micropay and coupons. Soooo, I now have purchased 15 books in total and still have around $16 left in micropay. All this for spending $52! Truly exceptional saving!

Does Fictionwise normally provide Micropay rebates when paying via Micropay or is it just for this special? I know the 100% rebates are limited to CC/Paypal, but I'm talking about the normal rebates.

Usually rebates up to about 30% are also available when paying by micropay.

It' is unusual for such a large rebate to work with micropay. Which is one reason I couldn't resist.

At one time, BooksonBoard allowed rebates on all store credit purchases. Now, they have gone entirely 180 on their policy - you get no rebates if paying with credit, which often means they are the most expensive option around.

Fictionwise has ebooks of some books I already have in print-- I'd like ebook copies, but don't want to buy them twice (at least at full price.) So I bit the bullet and tried to maximize the deals available. I joined the club ($29.95 fully rebated, plus $10 coupon) bought some things with that micropay, which lead to more micropay, etc. I reached a point were I had slightly less micropay than the cost of one of the books I wanted, so I added $5.00 in micropay through Paypal. At one stage I dropped in the 25% off coupon. In the end, I ended up with 13 items (mostly books, 2-3 sub 50-cent articles) for a total of $33.10 with $1.85 still left in micropay. All the items together listed for $141.89. So more than 75% off overall, plus I have the 1-year membership.

A fictionwise tip - never buy micropay. Instead, see what books are at 100% rebate and buy one of them instead.

I too occasionally bought micropay when I started at fictionwise. No more!

I just used $35 of my micropay on six more books and got about $20 of it back in further micropay. So I my $55 or so in purchases has now netted me 12 books, and I still have $25 in micropay left. I could easily get another 6-8 books before this is done. Six more books will put me at $3 a book...

I agree. I once bought micropay dollars and then realized that buying a $5.00 book with paypal at 100% rebate was a much better deal.

This is strange.

On the 19th of December I bought Arctic Drift [Dirk Pitt Series Book 20] by Clive Cussler for $9.49. And that was using only a 5% discount coupon,

Today I noticed that the price has been changed to $20. Now that's a heck of an increase. Wonder if the initial price was a mistake?

Edit: As luck would have it I had a screenshot saved of the original listing. See attachment.

I'd guess that the publisher is messing around with pricing.

It's even stranger when you conside that you can buy the paperback in the UK from Amazon for £3.83 (about $6)
