I'd love to help Sony win that war but I'm not willin to pay $350 plus tax for a 6 inch reader especially when the kindle is only $259. I know it has a touch screen but I'm not interested in paying extra dollars for features that I don't want and which actually detract from the overall reading experience.

As the owner of both a Kindle and a Sony, I'm interested in knowing in what way you feel that the Sony's features detract from the reading experience? Have you spent much time reading on the Sony PRS-600? Personally (and, as I say, I own both, so I'm speaking from practical experience) I find the Sony to be much the better reader.

Being both a Kindle and Sony owner, I agree with Harry above.

It's not the lack of wireless - that didn't stop the iPod. It's the fact that there's no equivalent yet of iTunes and the iTunes Store. That's what made buying/downloading music easy enough to move it into the mainstream. That and the fact the iPod worked so well that it was enough to entice many people to but into Apple's proprietary setup (Mac only, AAC and so on).

Yea - I'd imagine that this is a "get to market" decision, and we'll see a 910 with a EU-compatible module pretty quickly.

As to the price, it's down to the screens. When alternate screen technology (especially in decent volume!) is available...
