Farking winter is here!!!! -13C according to The Weather Network, -19 with the wind. They say it's Alberta's wave of cold falling down on us, so I'm blaming you, MikeRo!

Time to wear a pj under the office clothes - bigger bum = warmer bum

Happy lovely winter to Am, Slite and the googlies!

I just saw on the news Santa got arrested for DUI in Sparta, WI. Guess that means I won't be getting my Christmas wish. Sigh....Now I'm going to have to leave out a wireless ankle monitor and add a fifth of vodka to the eggnog. So much for milk and cookies this year.
Yeah, but it's Wisconsin, so if it was his first offense, then it's just a misdemeanor.

Ahhh.. Zero degrees. I can't wait.

i'll believe it when i see it though. snow is pretty rare in paris, and we got quite a lot of it last year, i was expecting this winter to be really mild but clearly i was wrong... there is a snow alert over 31 departments in france for tonight and at least through tomorrow !

Why not until New Year's Eve? Planning to soak yourself up in grog and then envelop the ladies?

They probably are big blocks of ice by now. They'll melt in a couple months, I'm sure.

In the meantime: I'm coooooolllllddddd! I completely winterized myself this morning, but from the moment I stepped out to *now*, more then 12 hours after, I've been cold. I think I should drink antifreeze liquid to keep my fingers movable.

Whoops - one major thing I forgot to mention. When we lost power Sunday night (temperature at -33C before wind chill) the local power utility guys were out in that for hours restoring power for everyone. A big tip 'o the hat to those folks - they definitely earned every penny of overtime that night.

Snow! We finally got snow! The first real snow in 5 years! (I don't count those days where you can hardly see there is snow as real snow...)

I stayed home (I admit, we did try to get to work, but after 30 minutes gave up and went home again. This country isn't made for snowy days )

9:48 pm. 32.6 C outside (91.4 F); 20% humidity; lightning at a distance. Distinct smell of smoke from bushfires and hot wind. An Australian summers evening

As I typed that, it started raining...
