So, yeah the boiler was not working. Turns out that the vent on the gas meter was frozen shut. Whatever that means. Well, it means $150, actually.

In the meantime, we're expecting "a shower or two with possible local thunder" and the radar is showing the forecast coming up from the southeast. We had 23C overnight and it made it up to 29C today - humid, but not too humid; warm rather than hot. Swim for lunch, and it'll be a swim for afternoon tea (also two cupcakes from our friendly next door neighbour) if the storms don't come. Warm, hot, hot, warm, humid...I'm lazy, but this kind of weather pushes me into a state of relaxation approaching check-the-body-for-a-pulse. It's a good thing. Cheers, Marc | |

Woke up to -4 C and 15 centimeters of snow. And 80% of the morons out of the roads has been waiting until the last moment to change to snowtires. i.e. they will do it when they get home tonight (if they get home) Going to work this morning took 2,5 hours instead of the normal 1 hour. |

The Moron Cylce here only lasts for the first two snows, then it settles down. Some sort of Darwinism going on, I think.

Had my boiler replaced last week - thick end of £6,000 that was. We'd better be having some seriously freezing weather coming our way, I want my money's worth!! |
