I actually prefer using photographs, but since I'm always the one in our family taking the pictures, there are precious few of yours truly, and none I consider suitable at present as a avatar.

I like it when people use real photos. Putting a picture to the words give a feeling of the person in a way that you can't get, IMO, from symbols alone.

I'm generally the one taking the pictures for a reason... I don't like pictures of myself! I always look stupid in them...

in all reality I have that problem as well. I wouldn't have even had that photo but my students parents wanted it. it was the last day of regular classes for the season and she had just passed her tests... her parallel tests!!! and she was a brand new skier when I started her that season! wooo-hooooo!!!!!
