I have often marvelled at the "unkillable" patients I have come across in my career. Guys like DGpa who are on their fifth cancer treatment, cardiac patients who have minimal functionleft, but still keep going. The main thread that holds them together seems to be their boundless optimism and the love of their families.

Really happy to hear that all seems to be working out well for you and your husband DGMa. Just been through a similar situation with my mother-in-law and so have some small amount of understanding of the situation.

This is good news.

And we marvel at your man, and not just because of who he happily lives with. But we also marvel at you, and the strength in you that lets you both lean on each other when you need to, knowing that you both help hold each other up.

Obviously, there are never any guarantees in situations like this. I just wanted to give hope to someone who might otherwise think cancer today is still a death sentence.

But Marc..........isn't that what any relationship is about? I remember they used to say that it was a 50/50 proposition.

Its more like 80/20, and the odds go back and forth from partner to partner, depending on who's stronger at that time.

Truer words were never spoken. There are times when I know my husband is propping me up to get through a crisis and there are times when I do the same for him. It's a delicate balancing act that takes a lot of work but when it works, its wonderful.

Although we had a 'scare' in the Summer; my lady has recently been given the all-clear after 5 years of treatment for what was described as an aggressive C.
