I was in the UK in the 90's and it was some kind of running joke. I think we saw an episode.. I don't remember much (pubs and all) but, that saying and some singing would get a lot of laughs. (Can I admit, I had a hard time understanding when everyone was talking fast?

There are no clips of it on Youtube!! I can't believe it. I must upload one to my channel. It's so weird, me and my friends were studying at the time and doing a lot of all nighters, and that "nobody here but us chickens" was our little in-joke at the time. It's weird hearing that other people had the same joke

I have spent most of my afternoon cataloging all my DVDs, and now I'm having a glass of wine, while listening to some of the best of Boney M's Christmas music... Sad - isn't it?

I should have been vacuuming, dusting, de-cluttering etc...

Anyway, I feel I have accomplished something

I told my mom about this and she said it was a popular song (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Jordan), but that it was already a "saying" her mother's generation (20's - 30's) was using before the song. She doesn't remember when it was started, but that everyone just used it in answer to the question, "Is anybody home?"

I'm trying to finish up my holiday shopping. I'm thinking of getting my Dad a boxed set of Segovia. it's hard to shop for my folks right now as they are downsizing. this is a fairly expensive gift for me considering I am unemployed and traveling to both New Mexico and Mexico for the holidays.

would it be totally tacky to rip the CDs and put them on my Zune after he opens them?

No, it would be tacky to keep the original CD's and give him a set that you burned after ripping them to your Zune
