I know that there are some thoughtful folks here, but the avatars they choose *almost* always cause me to discount their words in advance. Perhaps I'm just too old.

). I always liked it, because I pronounce it "Six Charlong" in my mind, and imagine some SF character, perhaps cyborg, perhaps clone, certainly trained in espionage, assassination, and personal defence...well, like I said, my head works that way. I also liked it for the geekish association I assumed. Now that I know why you selected it, you've just added a punchline that makes me love it all the more (and the puppy doesn't hurt either ). That's a lot to assume from a username. I think I'm just making Ea's point. Cheers, Marc

I've been following this for days, and a while ago someone posted a picture I fell in love with. This is definitely not me, and not exactly what I wish I were, but I like the spunk and devil may care joie de vivre. Since nobody else latched onto it, I'm taking it! And yeah, I do think avatars help form that first impression. |

yep! both my children, and all of my "acquired" children; exchange students, strays my kids brought home from school (who just never left!) were taught at a minnimum gun safety, and the ones who were into it, got into competition, and pretty much anything legal that they wished to explore. another deal with my boy in particular... the daughter and I got pretty heavily into draft horses and showing in competition. he got drug along occasionally and was enlisted in the harnessing and hitching when we competed. much to his surprise this came in as a very valued knowledge base when the SEAL team he was assigned to started using mules in Afghanistan. the moral of this story is; your Mom isn't ALWAYS nuts when she wants you to learn how to do things the hard way |

Common, no sane woman would get kids! I tried to tell my sister-in-laws, but only one listened to me... It was too late to tell my mother though... (but she'll know again in 2 1/2 weeks, when I'll be spending christmas and new year with her!)

This is going to sound weird, but right after I changed avatar I suddenly couldn't match up my words with my avatar. Didn't fit at all. It was very confusing. Now I'm gotten a bit more used to it. Something festive for the season.

Actually, i find your new avatar somewhat scary.... The girl in the picture looks like she's ready to bite you or something.

JSWolf had a "The Penguin" penguin avatar for a while and I would cringe everytime I looked at it. . . . sometimes I'm such a girly-girl!
