Seriously thoughtful Do avatar images influence your impression of personality?

Avatars do sort of put a "face" to the person. I remember the first time on another forum we were posting pictures of pets and people. One of the guys posted a picture of himself and his dog and...I mean, OF COURSE he didn't look like his avatar. But...my brain still expected it.

Whenever I see your avatar out of the corner of my eyes - like when I'm reading your post - I see two large white eyes in a black 'face' staring to the lower right, like as if a bear is peeking over a fence.

i added my own damned accents (and a few other missing letters) .

anyway, yes, that's close. actually "dormouse" sounds really close to "dormeuse" which means a sleeper (much like "liseuse" means reader ). and actually i just decided to check if real dormice really do sleep a lot, and lo (thank you wikipedia) :

One of the most notable characteristics of those dormice that live in temperate zones is hibernation. Dormice can hibernate six months out of the year, or even longer if the weather remains sufficiently cool, sometimes waking for brief periods to eat food they had previously stored nearby. During the summer, they accumulate fat in their bodies, to nourish them through the hibernation period

It is from this trait that they got their name, which comes from Anglo-Norman dormeus, which means "sleepy (one)"; the word was later altered by folk etymology to resemble the word "mouse". The sleepy behaviour of the Dormouse character in Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland also attests to this trait.

I guess that's not a terrible thing!

I use the avatar because it's the theme on my website. I designed it for the header of my website/blog eons ago. Then when I needed an avatar, it just seemed like the way to go. I always thought after I published a book, I'd use one of my covers. But I'm attached to the bear now and so it stays. I put that same bear on each side on the last quilt that I made.

(For those unfamiliar with the design--it's actually an American Indian medicine bear design. It's always been a favorite--both the myth behind the bear and the symbol/protection/hope that it stands for.)

I had been meaning to say something to you for the longest time! the spirit bear is actually the symbol for my farm. it's on our carhartt jacketts, stationary, and most anything I can stencil
